Really thought Samsung would wake up but one can see why they are falling further and further behind Huawei. They don't know what users want anymore. Shame on you Samsung. You disgrace your legacy!

Yes smart setup. Bet the Huawei P40 pro will still beats it. Its not about the megapixels. Put a leica lens set on this monster then you will see really amazing camera setup. It will still be awesome well done Samsung.

The more details are coming through leaks, the more I'm inclined not to buy this phone.

Can we appreciate the fact that Samsung (S20 Ultra) as a secondary zoom camera unit uses the same sensor (IMX 586) that other flagships (Oneplus 7) use as a primary one?
Also Huawei P40 will use still the same IMX 520 8 Mpx sensor for its 10x optical zoom, so S20 Ultra, even after cropping its 48 Mpx 5x optical zoom image to 12 Mpx 10x hybrid zoom, will have more pixels of the same size (0.8 μm).

NipponFan, 16 Jan 2020108 MP on such a small lens... Obsolete It's actualy meant for a 12MP photo using 9-in-1 (aka Nona) Bayer technique.

And I thought megapixel wars ended long ago.

12MP 1.8 micron pixel? That is actually higher than the native pixel count of Nokia N8 from 2010. I think I am more interested with the standard S20 or the S20+ rather than the S20 Ultra.

I miss the days when flagships was a single phone. Basically for smartphones these days the Plus, Pro and (in S20 case) Ultra versions are the real flagships.

So inferior zoom and Ultrawide cameras for the s20 and s20+.

IMX 555 looks pretty good but the 108mp sensor is the best on the market.

Looks like a proper bump over the other two variants.

LOL, 16 Jan 2020Interesting... the Sony IMX 586 48MP sensor is used on the ... moreYep, might as well be 3 different phones. I get real dismayed when products that should be essentially the same, save for display size, are not. The range should have feature parity. Huawei has been doing this for a while. Essentially launching 3 phones, under the same banner, but with very different specs. I get that size plays a part, so an iPhone 4 could never have the cameras in the latest iPhone 11, but when they have the same number of modules, part of me hates it

Whackcar, 16 Jan 2020Competition from Chinese phones have gotten hardcore since ... moreI agree, but with odd choices like letting there be a camera hump, lack of a headphone jack (despite there being a chunk of users who stuck to their phones because of it), and the weird dichotomies between all phones and their cameras, it's just so confusing to me what they're doing. Couple that with the fact that they look exactly like their cheaper budget brothers, and I for the life of me can't understand the business decisions they're doing. It's going to be expensive and only have two years of support too, so I just can't understand what the hell is going on.
