3 things are important on a phone. Portability, autonomy and camera.

The first two made a giant step back with sealed batteries and giant dimensions, the third is trully getting better but at a snail's pace.

A phone is not supposed to be your main/productive device. Getting better processors, screens and sound systems is/are fine as long as they are secondary pursuits.

For 5 years now, though, are primary pursuits which makes the whole scene wholly uninteresting to me. Phone development peaked somewhere around 2014 and ever since then it is moving at a snail pace (I.e. phones gain secondary features, but lose some primary ones, making them not much better than in the past..)

Only plebs like that soap opera crap that detracts from the video. Don't even get me started on interpolated 60fps anime clips on youtube.

That video is lol. What is up with the first phone? cuz that ain't normal.

No thanks. Low complexity frame rate interpolation causes rubbery and ghosting artifacts. Even studio grade algorithms make bad mistakes.

If low complexity motion analysis worked so well we'd all be recording 120Hz 8K videos with cellphones. Prediction, redundancy elimination, and detail reduction are the major components of compression.

I wish to buy this beast..but I cant, I am a poor guy, out of money.

They should really focus on battery life and give a better camera since they are charging premium for their devices.

I hope MEMC can be turned off, sometimes with it,there is the so-called 'soap opera' effect

"What this means is that a user can watch a 30fps or 60fps video and a custom-made "MEMC" chip in the 8 Pro will be able to create additional frames to simulate a higher frame rate."

                    Reminds me of SVP Player.

Specs look very promising, but the punch hole cam solution will divide opinion. Where's the waterdrop notch?
