I have always accepted the reviews posted by gsmarena as the most objective and accurate compared to other web sites, but i cannot say the same of this review. The author seems to be biased and is also not accurate in all his/her comments and some comments are very subjective. This is a pity when measured against your normal very professional publications.

Several months ago, Samsung said that the fall detection capability would be available on the Active2 watch in January, 2020. Not a word has been heard. What happened to the promise?

i was going to comment about how this review missing so much of information that it's actually looks bad for this site to have such a bad review but then i saw who wrote it then i remember those old days when a well known Apple fanboy use to write trash reviews on Android devices on this website so it's easy to pass from looking into this review :/

Esim nonsense again . we want nano sim watches . Esim is not supported worldwide in every country

No mentioning the still not working ECG, really? This review is flawed in so many ways.

Confused this it the huawei gt2

This review is flawed in the instant where he mentioned that the Watch Active2 does not have a rotating bezel, dude i have the same watch and i can rotate using the bezels!
Did he got a defective unit?

Love how NOWHERE in this entire review do they tell you how big the display is

trveller72, 19 Jan 2020Sorry Gsmarena, but this review is bad. I had to make an ef... moreYes i agree! This review isnt very good

This is an objectively bad review. No mention of the digital bezel or the fact that the functionality when paired with an iphone is quite limited (perhaps the reason for the simpler setup). The vibration is more than adequate and maybe there was something wrong with your unit, because the screen mine turns on accidentally on the slightest wrist twist all the time. The point about the nonimportance of having a zillion apps on a watch is actually a good one, though. I'd say this is subpar for GSMArena and maybe a little biased as well, surprisingly.

                        Hello,
First it is a very detailed review for this product. however i think you did not gave it what he can deserve. The installation process is a headache for most of the users. but the 'only one time process" will not make it a hard choice for buying it. the design of Active 2 is considered a major step from the previous version, especially with touch bezel rotating which you did not mention it properly. at the end when you recommending apple watch as alternative to Active 2, you forget that when it comes to the price there are many very good alternatives in between which can be recommended ?

This is an outtake to prove how negative the writer had decided to make the review, from before opening the box:

"Also, the straps aren't all that annoying if you wear the watch while typing on your keyboard."

What does it even mean? You ALSO expected the strap to be annoying to wear?

Im surprised you don't mention the missing bloodpressure monitor which is yet to be activated...

Sorry Gsmarena, but this review is bad. I had to make an effort to get to the end of the review. I almost gave up at the 'no rotating bezel' and at the 'tactic feedback'. Seriously?
One of the features of this watch was the touch rotating bezel.
And, by the way, the haptic feedback is ok. Also is on the thinnest of the smartwaches.
                                Not Gsmarena standard.

Speaking of the rotating bezel, both Active2 and Active1 have a Touch Rotating Bezel works similarly as original Watch!

And today, the Active1 can be found for as low as $160.
I just bought it with $30 voucher applied making it just $130! A really great purchase considering no much differences between the 1 and 2 version.

This is the first honest review I see for this watch. Everybody else just praised it too much ignoring the negatives. My 2 cents after half year of daily use:
                                    Pro:
                                    Great battery life (44mm).
                                    Sleep tracking feature
                                    Decent looks
                                    Great collection of watch faces
Can be used with any phone (although more cumbersome if not a Samsung)
                                    Cons:
Round shape gets you 30% less footprint than a rectangular shape and is never ideal for any digital content.
Samsung services are lacking significantly compared to competition - Bixby, Samsung Pay, Smart Things, etc, all do less (or less good) than what Google and Apple offer.
Has literally no storage space - 4GB minus OS, minus watchfaces and apps = 0 space for music, maps or anything else
Interesting choice for not including a digital compass with the GPS, makes maps of limited use while walking or hiking.
Activity detection is quite RnG. It can happen to reach your steps goal while driving or doing other activities than walking
It is not cheap by any means. Price per feature is higher than Apple Watch, LTE for instance is 150$ for Active 2 while for Apple is only 100$. Overall it is cheaper, but packs significantly less.
LTE has a weak signal reception, makes it sometimes unusable where a regular phone would work.
EKG is still not available in 2020.
Wearing an Active 2 watch is a hit of about 15% on your Android Phone's battery.
Vibration, just sad, almost does not exist.

anyone with this watch try watchface phosphor minimalist.
it's my most favorite, recommend some of yours too

I have a 44 mm version ,its only 0.2mm thicker than the apple watch 5 and 5g lighter .
Google assistant works great using GAssist.
Change the band and choose one of hundreds of watch faces to mix things up.
You can change the face anytime without the phone which is great .
                                        Very happy with mine.
