EskeRahn, 20 Jan 2020You are aware that a majority can not operate a 68mm wide d... more...Of course this would change if the mobile phone OSs got totally new guidelines where there were a display area covering everything and an interaction area limited to what is reachable with a particular grip and hand size.
These guidelines are theoretically easy, but are not easy to apply to existing apps, so practically all apps that should apply to these would have to have their whole UI re-designed. And be designed in six(!) variants: Right and Left hand Portrait, Two hand portrait and Two hand landscape (there might be a Y shaped dead zone in the middle), and finally the easy 100% ones hold in one hand and operate with the other, either portrait or landscape.
Samsung and others are offering modes where they reduce everything towards a corner, Of course that solves the interaction part, but then the whole point of a bigger device is lost.

There is a reason why aPple kept the phone size for many years. Peoples average thumb reach. See e.g. this https://eskerahn.dk/?p=2922 and its sources.
So your "majority" that would not notice are those that have already given up on one handed usage, to get good specs...
But if used two handed there is no reason to have the format so elongated...

IMX 686 is a mid range sensor. It's on the Redmi K30 (285$).
Much more better sensors by Sony are available than the IMX 686.

What about S11? Is S20 Replaces S11 or S11 will release later?

And when I thought they finally gonna release an amazing camera for all - its just for the Ultra.
Can Samsung for once make a phone the size of the S10e with the Cameras and processor of S20 Ultra?
Like, I cant with those big screen phones, I want smaller screen, why cant I have the best specs on a smaller phone? (Ok, I am willing to give up on some battery since the size, and I am even willing to give up on some screen resolution)
Just make small phones without comprising on the specs dummies!

EskeRahn, 19 Jan 2020Well the 65mm 'limit' is on the big side already, so yes it... moreThat analogy is completely flawed. You can compare an unnoticeable difference of 65 vs 69mm, which is more to how you hold it, to missing 4mm on a wallpaper which would visually leave an empty space on the wall.

Anonymous, 18 Jan 2020Bro calm down, nobody is such a perfectionist like you are.... moreWell the 65mm 'limit' is on the big side already, so yes it will be noticed if it is beyond. You could go the other way and say that it does not matter with the 4% difference of a 76mm and 79mm device, as they both are going to be two hand operated by most anyway.
If you got some wall paper that can cover your wall less 4% it matters. On the other hand it does not matter If you have 4% more wall paper than needed.

Anonymous, 19 Jan 2020Snap has only been better since the 845. 835 had better eff... moreExynos has been competitive because of Samsung's Engineering , no credit to Mali.
Samsung has always managed to put more GPU core in the SoC. Mali has been weak for some years. A great example is Huawei Kirin or MediaTek SoC. Samsung has just managed to put more core because their SoC architecture has always been more energy efficient. But putting more core has cost them while being under load for some time exynos throttles .
I'm looking forward to seeing it change with Samsung's partnership with AMD. May Exynos be the King again.
SN: There's no need to think that exynos 990 is bad just because Samsung disbanded the mongoose custom core division(They might have different plan with exynos.). The custom core division has been a success. They have always performed better than SD(a lot better). But they don't make the whole SoC I believe. It's the two older A76 core in 990 which will let 990 down in multi core.

Snapdragon is supported by the whole world industry, they're backing it up via all compatibility with their software in VR,AR,XR etc... you name them all....Exynos is ???? No one wants to hear that name...
Snapdragon plays 90% of heavy Wii game titles @ 50-60 fps on dolphin emulator while poor Exynos only manages 10-38 fps...
Battery life consumption.... I'm not gonna touch this 1 coz everyone knows what's what...lol

AnonD-754814, 18 Jan 2020That's completely wrong information. SD has been better sin... moreSnap has only been better since the 845. 835 had better efficiency in gpu not the whole soc. And the gpu wasn't that much stronger either.
Mali not being as strong didn't ruin anything though. It put gpu a little behind for a couple gens yes but it wasn't always the case. And they are coming back strong now.
However the idiots at Samsung are the ones letting Samsung and exynos down by closing down their custom CPU team for good. For no reason.
As if apple didn't go through the same struggle the first couple large core attempts. Or most any company would really. And guaranteed it was the same people closing them down that wanted them to chase bench scores over efficiency in the first place.
