That is the case for most devices by common manufacturer.

Very true. We have come to a point where even mid-range phone doesn't feel sluggish. Slower than flagship, but definitely not laggy for day to day usage. Most people don't even realise the different between each upgrade android upgrade.

ssppfamily, 19 Jan 2020Still use 5.0 and 7.0 don't care about new Android.Oh sure you can say that. But once app developers remove support for very old versions, you had it. Realistically speaking, your current Android phone should be at least two version lower (not counting any x.1 update) than the current latest version if you want to keep on using up-to-date Play Store apps.

Still use 5.0 and 7.0 don't care about new Android.

Meanwhile, I'm still here waiting for 9.0 Pie update on my 2018 phone. Oh well... moving on.

This has nothing to do with optimisation and is everything about how Google keeps responsibility at two arms lengths, to avoid any financial liability while raking in all the money. This is the reason there's no centralised update service. This is the reason everything is fragmented.
Google MUST be taken out of Android. 100%.

I am still fine with Android Oreo so I may not care of newer Android technically. Of course, the newer one is always the best after all. I just hope Android is back with its sweet name. R for Rice Cake?

AnonD-762416, 18 Jan 2020This has to be repeated until it happens: Samsung and other... moreSince first Pixel have came out, Android is well optimized. Only few things irks me out with respect to Pixel. No micro sd card slot. No 128/256GB storage. There was no 6GB RAM variant in first two iterations. Launch is towards the end of the year, prices have considerably dropped for qualcomm top tier chipsets, still Google asks too much money. Pixel should launch at 550-600 at the most for 6+128 and 700 for 8+256 variant. Nothing more than that. Only one pixel should be relaased. And one midranger. With snapdragon 7** series chipsets

AnonD-762416, 18 Jan 2020This has to be repeated until it happens: Samsung and other... moreSamsung should focus on optimization which is thoroughly lacked since years. Although skin has improved a lot over the years, optimization is still big miss in this day and age. Once you use Android, you don't need private Samsung browser and all that stuff. Just a Google stuff. Gmail/youtube/chrome. That's enough. Samsung should get rid of rest of part in this iteration. Then only Samsung will survive. Huawei is on the way of making great alternative to Android. Two years more and Samsung will disappear from Horizon.

Its just that Android is getting demanding these days and hence putting 6GB and 8GB RAM is must. Even DDR5 RAM is must. Battery life on these phones with full signal strength is phenomenal. I hope Google Pixel 4 upgrades to 4000-4500 capacity. Google Pixel 3A XL should have came with snapdragon 730 instead of 670. Base variant must be 128GB and 6GB RAM.

Its either a fake.... moreI (we?) get what you mean, but your choice of words is incorrect: "beta" designation is used for mostly finished products that just need some polish. Before that there's "alpha", a product with core functionality, but missing some minor features and is probably full of bugs, possibly critical. This here is so early that it's pre-alpha at best.
