            LOL, 20 Jan 2020Not necessarily with pixel binning.Pixel binning doesn't improve the zoom quality. Instead it enhances the light sensitivity therefore improves the colour reproduction, tonality, SNR, dynamic range etc.

                Besides, I believe Samsung is changing its product lineup. The S20 is the successor of the S10e, the S20 Plus is the successor of the S10/S10+, the S20 Ultra is something totally new and a premium phone.

                      LOL, 20 Jan 2020Not necessarily with pixel binning.Yeah but visually speaking, 108MP on a phone will never be true 108MP. Zoom in after a picture is taken and it'll look like 5MP. That's just the way it is with phones.

Technically speaking, ANY digital zoom degrades the quality. Therefore, it is unfair and misleading to put 100x when 'only' 10x is truly available [in good quality].

                        Also 10x is still very inpressive for a phone. No one would be crying if they were honest and put 10x.

The Huawei P30 Pro was advertised with its 50x zoom, which was probably less 1MP. It's zoom range was about 5x in optical zoom, and everything else beyond was just digital.

                            Smartphone algorithms aren't adventurous enough, and image or sensor fusion isn't being explored enough, or smartphones can easily up-res photos for much higher MP and much clearer details. This is both possible in photos and for video. They need high RAM and sensors with extremely fast readout. Also, high Res Modes from Olynpus/Panasonic/DJI can easily be introduced on smartphones with as good results, handheld, if the stabilisation mechanism is designed well.

                              Would have been nice to see renders based on the confirmed screen aspect ratio of 20:9 instead of 19.5:9.

                                      Yeah the pics don't look good when you zoom in say from a distance of about 30ft and take a picture of what's being displayed by pc monitor. You can definitely get more info than your regular Samsung or Apple when you zoom in from items at about 15ft to 20ft away. Perhaps Samsung will fix all these with software by the time the device comes out in late February.
