They Are much more easier to use, their of is up to date, instead of loading gigabyte of stuff just when you start using them. Lighter, battery last longer, no need to keep power cord plugged all the time.
So Many reason there to use these!

These are not meant to replace your gaming or video editing machines. I have an Asus Windows laptop ($1500) for gaming. I do all my coding work on Linux running on a Lenovo laptop.

My new target Chromebook will be an i7 & 8GB RAM endowed. This way I only carry one laptop - Chrome, Android & Linux.

Makes me wonder if you ever had used a Chromebook for real before.

abigfanoftechs, 22 Jan 2020Buy or borrow one & use it for 1 month ... then give us... moreI had been using Chromebook for about three months exploring every single feature of Chrome OS, and I can only think of two words for it: IT'S CRAP!

Most (in fact nearly all) app needed constant online connection just to work and the Chrome Web Store has a hilariously bad catalogue - couldn't even get a single suitable app for my media-related work that doesn't involve office suite. Sure that there is Google Play Store support, but what's the point of that if you already have the phone with you and not all apps in Play Store are compatible with Chrome OS.

I ended up selling the Chromebook and get myself a not-so-old Windows laptop which I clean install it with Linux Mint. Couldn't even care less about Crostini.

Tech world will turn upside down in 2028. All these books will be outdated even get updates.

LG Superfan, 22 Jan 2020I don't get the point of ChromebooksBuy or borrow one & use it for 1 month ... then give us your opinion.

I'm pretty sure those Chromebooks will break down before even receiving the last OS update.
