24 January 2020
Not to mention that the transition to a single charging port will cost over a billion euros, according to a study commissioned by Apple.

They changed from a 30 pin to their current standard six years ago. Rich how Apple are complaining that it'll cost them money. The changes will affect customers the most like it did then.

Though unlike then, USB-C isn't a new standard. It's been around a few years now and the market has existing USB-C accessories. The transition shouldn't be as painful (unlike Lightning which was completely new)

Apple... Says it all. - Who wants an apple device when there is an ocean of by far better Droid devices coming.... :)

When was the last time an innovation in chargers had anything to do with the physical connector?

why would it be "troublesome for consumers"? ultra-expensive iPhones are the only phones with a proprietary connector and even budget Androids are beginning to move to USB-C

It will stifle only their selling dongles, cables and accessories!!

So even the cheapest budget phone or tablet that costs 100$ or even less will come with an USB-C port and charger?!

                $1,5bn??
This is just hilarious...who buys that BS anymore?
I guess it`s easier for Apple to sell that BS than to explain why they`re charging $50+ for a $5 charger+usb cable...
