The Moto Z4 has an active stylus and uses the same sort of screen that Microsoft uses in their Surface Products. They didn't include a pen in the box but it works fine just fine if you buy one. It uses a comparable technology to what Samsung uses. Its the only phone that I know of that support Active Pen protocol at this time. So a new phone with active stylus support is not a surprise.

It's a simple pen for capacitive screens. It's not comparable to spen. I think the stylus is there for a carrier feature as digital signature or stuff in this style.

AnonD-558092, 26 Jan 2020That's the wrong comparison. The Note is and has always bee... moreIt was a niche product. Now the only difference between S and Note is the pen, almost no difference in software. Even the price difference is minimal.
Number of people needing a pocketable canvas is much smaller than overall Note units sold. And most of them will choose a better software experience in Apple iPads with the pencil.
Another manufacturer making Note-like device would be better from consumer perspective, but no one will invest a lot for only potential profits.

You know what? I'd be down with more manufacturers offering budget stylus phones, even mid-flagship phones just cheaper than the notes.
This will force Samsung to actually trying to make the Note series an elite brand instead of just a rebranded S series like it has since the note 5

It's really just a stupid design.

Berserker, 26 Jan 2020Well, calling it fake its not the right word imo. And yes... moreThe one I've noticed putting the most inaccurate renders is Lienovo.
                  Example:

The Note is and has always been about that niche of people wanting a big, pocketable canvas. You can't compare mainstream products with niche products. Then you're going to say that making flagships is bad because the Galaxy A and J sells better.

Also, niches are perfect for bigger profit margins. Specialized equipment is always sold at a big markup. Check out Audioquest Angel 3.5mm audio cables or Dragonfly active DACs.

AnonD-558092, 26 Jan 2020The sales numbers of the Note series is counted in millions... moreYes, Note series sells in millions each year, but it's still just a few percent of what numbers the S series reaches. So for any manufacturer that's selling much less than Samsung it's not that worthy investment.

And yes, of course not OEM's are polishing the promo pictures, but at some point in time everybody has done it, some more and some less.

Berserker, 25 Jan 2020I derstand what you are saying.all OEM's are doing that. ... moreNot all OEM are putting fake renders, I own a OnePlus 7 and the bezels are the same sizes as the renders, the bottom one is bigger than top one and the side ones are the smallest.
Well, at least GSM Arena posts real pictures after reviewing the phones.

Cause this one doesn't look like a 150USD model.

Samsung bought the tech from Wacom, so others would either need to buy it too, or develop their own tech. That's money and work, that's better spend elsewhere. After all, Galaxy Note devices are not selling that well, meaning the need for them is not that great.
So basically, it's a lot of investment for not that much of profit. At least at this point.

From gadgets to auto industry, almost everybody is trying to trick the consumers, since majority of the consumers are under educated it is easy to convince them buying in to it.
