I care only about the hardware specs of the phone and it's price - nothing else. I haven't noticed any real difference between Android 5.0 and Android 10.0 - just cosmetic design changes.

          Yeah, iPhone got 5 year support bcoz both hardware and software is made by apple itself. All the models launching in each year have same hardware configuration, while in android it's defragmented.
          But the features introduced with each ios updation can be found in old androids.

          Also we can get custom roms in android(moto g 1st gen from 2013 is a entry level smartphone and custom rom based on Android 10 is still available for it)

              S7 Active has: Actual multitasking (2 apps open at the same time and even more if you want)
              - Camera pro mode to adjust white balance, ISO etc. (No 3rd party app required)
              - Option to install apps outside of the Playstore (No root or jailbreak needed)
              - Deep customization (Home screen layout, Video lockscreen, Themes, Icon packs, etc)
              And that's considering that is running Android 8.0 Oreo.

Because important security updates are still being released for devices stuck on iOS 12 (see iOS 12.4.2, 12.4.3 and 12.4.4) These were all released while iOS 13 was already out, and iOS 12.4.4 is from 10. December 2019. Its the latest software for the iPhone 5s, released on 20. September 2013. That's 6 years and 2.5 months of continuous software support.

Updating software actually makes it laggy for some reason. Opening apps take too long after OneUI update. Phones have their own strengths and weaknesses, duh!

                      Still using my 5 yrs old 6s. Can't be more happier.. thanks apple!

I want to hear some important changes that 4 iterations of OS would make me want to invest into a new iPhone, so I can boast about getting updates, not just by the name of me getting updates, but ACTUALLY seeing improvements to the OS?

                                I've owned Androids for almost 10 years and updating of ALL of them was always an absolute nightmare. And they got dropped form updates literally for no logical reason or with really dumb excuses. iOS 13 release on iPhone though, the moment it was announced, I got it on my iPhone XR. I'm expecting no less from iOS 14. And iOS 15. And iOS 16... etc. And every single release in between. Good luck expecting anything like that from any Android. This is one of main reasons that drove me away from Android. Other being creepy Google itself and how I don't want to have ANYTHING to do with them. Dropping all their services means there is no point in using Android.

                                      So iPhone SE which is an ancient bulky brick with 4" display and resolution below HD will receive in 2020 latest iOS 14?!

                                        Something quite revealing with the A13 I have noticed with research from Anand tech, Gary explains and my own understandings for a former research establishment with chipsets I used to design.

                                        The A13 seems to have an interesting issue? I have noted that whilst they try to show a single core score or speed. No matter what degree of computational equation is given. No one other than apple has been able to achieve the single core speed.

                                        But the more serious issue is this....

                                        When the 2x large cores are used. The single core speed of both actually Ramps down considerably.

                                        This is not the case with the 865. If anything the opposite.

                                        You will notice this in Gary explains video of the 865 reference device. Where the 865 seriously leaves the A13 standing.

                                        And I think that is the point where even Gary Sims. Is actually taken back in surprise. After careful analysis. This is quite a concerning development the future of the A13. Which is why we are only getting a 5% increase maximum over the A12.

                                        iOS needs 14. As there are some serious bugs and contact overrides that shouldn't be happening.

                                        iOS 13.3 and beta 13.3.1 which was designed to iron out those bugs is even worse.

                                        And Carplay is also defunct. Volkswagen, Nissan, Renault and other manufacturers.
