The 5 years of OS updates iOS provides assure that you will get all the new Google software package features that are rolled out for iOS and latest android first. The 5e with 1 OS update left will be cut of from those updates pretty soon.

Take my example: I have a Galaxy Note 8 that will remain on Android 9 for ever. Google released the dark theme for Gmail app but only for iOS 12 and up and Android 10. My Note 8 can't benefit from this but the 2014 iPhone 6 can. This is just one of many examples.

            Got one for 230 during black Friday. Love it, wanted to go Android but their tablet experience is pretty lackluster.

              This or a samsung galaxy tab s5e? The s5e has a superior screen, speakers, slimmer build quality while this ipad has ios which will run fluidly even for more years to come. Whats your opinion. I am deciding between the two even if the tab is slightly higher
