Thats good news, there was cool feature back in mi3 days, when you enter app name in search, it won`t just launch it but show you with shadow effects where it is, my issue now is i have 6 screens fully loaded with apps and I just cant find an old app. Like recently I installed gcam and tried to compare with stock and open camera I have installed long ago... CANT FIND IT! I ended up uninstalling it from app management tools. Tried POCO launcher, its good in that sense.

They had layout and icon size change until MIUI 6. Now they bring it back.
They removed the themes, now they bring them back.
The app drawer is brought not because it is functional, but because when someone is buying Xiaomi phone starts to complain on forums it is not there.
The beloved Poco launcher is absolute crap compared to MIUI. If MIUI turns into Poco launcher, many people will switch to another chinese brands.

        App Drawer is news?

I'm using Xiaomi Mi Max, originally it comes as 32GB variant, then then the board fried so I bought a new board with higher spec 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, currently running on MIUI 10.2 but I manage to get app drawer by installing Activity Launcher apps, open it and go straight to System Launcher and choose Home Screen so you can enable App Drawer from it. Once done do close everything to return to Home of your launcher, congratulations you finally get the App Drawer now.

omg, 28 Jan 2020no app launcher please just no no no.. wtf. you have all icons in home screen just like cluttered ios home screen?

Anonymous, 28 Jan 2020app launcher is useless and most redundant "feature" in and... moreThe logic is actually pretty simple.
You puts your widgets along with your most used apps on the homescreen and the rest of them in the app-drawer.

it's good step because Xiaomi made good hardware but stupidly removes many android features to make it as stupid as ios.
i had mi4i and it disappointingly doesn't have notification action feature.

omg, 28 Jan 2020no app launcher please just no no no.. Don't worry, you can choose between having all your apps on your homescreen (like today) or having a separate app-drawer, if you choose this option MIUI can automatically sort your apps into different categories too.

webster, 28 Jan 2020The app drawer saves me from having to organize all my apps... moreJust swipe down anywhere on any of the homescreens and start typing the name of the app you want. Just a couple of letters are enough most of the times, and voila! easy app access.

App drawers are useless in absolutely every way. It's like hiding dirt under the carpet.

IMO, app launcher is useless. Keep all your app in home screen like ios then u can access them with one tap. U don't need to scroll and search for ur app. It makes life easier as all u need to do is tap. In app launcher u have tl scroll and search for ur app which can be a nuisance when u hav a lot of apps installed. When scrolling u may overscroll and then u have to scroll up again. Such a hassle.

Anonymous, 28 Jan 2020app launcher is useless and most redundant "feature" in and... moreThe app drawer saves me from having to organize all my apps as it automatically has them in alphabetical order. I use a single home screen that only contains the apps I used on a daily basis so that's the only one I have to worry about organizing. With only home screens I would then have to organize all the apps if I wanted to find them without having to resort to search. I've seen it a million times; an iOS user struggling to find some rarely used app on one of their 5 or more home screens.

This may be good for some people but they better keep the original with no app drawer because is faster and easier to use.

My Redmi Note 5 updated it's MIUI Launcher a week ago and now gives the app drawer option. No alpha, no beta, stable MIUI11 with Android Pie
