    Since z4 is sd6xx
    Z5 better SD8xx
Z6 back SD6xx and so on
No need both out same but update should as fast moto x (faster than nexus)

Built-in 500mAh battery? Imagine the endurance rating would be when coupled with the Moto Power Pack Mod. That would be insanely long!

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2020You can read "Specification of the ACCESORY", so i believe... moreThe G series has moto actions (throttle camera, chop flashlight), as well as active display which do it for me.

                    It's the G8 power not G8 play.
I to welcome a larger battery on the Z series. Hopefully one that will not wear out within a year like all the others I've ever used from Motorola

Well Motorola Killed this series by changing their plans too much ... they stopped releasing flagship phones and over price their midrange phones with specs too less than the market they even stopped the android updates for the z2 force international model and updated the Verizon model only ...... i have moto z play and bought nearly all of the mods and was considering upgrading to moto z3 which was a total shit by not including the latest technology of finger print scanner and older chip and after that they even downgraded the the Z series when they released Z4 not dual cam but single cam and mid range chip also and priced it toooooo high for the market .... why would i pay 500$ in a lower than mid range phone while they stopped releasing new mods and over pricing other mods or send mods for free after others have paid too much to get them ..... i even considered buying moto z2 force in 2019 to pay less and get better specs than the z4 and keep my mods working

I would actually consider getting a new Moto Z if it has a decent SoC, if the mods are perfectly attached and if there's no notch like in the Z4. It looks like the only company in the Android market that can vouch for consistency and accessory compatibility is Motorola. 2020 is shaping to be a good year for smartphones regardless of the manufacturer though.

You can read "Specification of the ACCESORY", so i believe that the 5000mAh battery is inside a MOD not inside the phone... If you want to maintain the compatibility with mods you don't have room for that large battery less if you make it a lot thicker.

The Edge+ will be the flagship. So they pushed the Z5 niche phone later to not make the G8 series less undesirable with their old SD665, old fingerprint sensors, average cameras, etc. As the Z5 will be a mid-ranger too, its better push it later and more if you are going to ask a high price near the Edge+ due to the mods niche.

It is unlikely to be a Z5 because in FCC database it was written that the phone will support WiFi b/g/n single band.

I'm hoping Motorola makes this a semi-flagship (like putting in last year's Snapdragon processor) with triple camera in the back, 2K, 90Hz refresh rate AMOLED panel, stereo speakers, headphone jack with minimum 24-bit audio playback, have some bezel, and side fingerprint sensor. Price it right and I'd get it with the battery mod!

Get it done right this time, Lenovo! There is still no phone which can match Lenovo P2 regarding endurance and other unique aspects. So sad, Lenovo dont want to release P3. Would be huge success for those who knows what they want from almost perfect phone.

Assuming that Edge+ is the new Moto flagship, then this new Z series phone would likely be a midrange phone (I assume that because the previous Z4 was also a mid-ranger with a SD675 SoC). If that is the case, then they should at least put SD730 on it. Also, the camera setup needs to be upgraded to fit the times.

I suppose it would be too much to ask for a Z5 Force as well, with the reliable shattershield screen.

                                    G8 power has 5000 too.
How can they know it is z5?

the best thing about the Z series is that it basically has a semi-replacable battery

Is it me or Lenovo is lately pushing more Motorola devices to the market?

Let's hope quality is on point.
