I'mPhone, 30 Jan 2020Just a thought, maybe I have mentioned this repeatedly. ... moremaybe in India xiaomi is growing very quickly, but not in Indonesia. The top 3 marketphone here in Indonesia are: Samsung, Oppo, then Vivo. Followed by Realme in 4th position, Xiaomi is currently struggling against Realme in tight numbers with only less than 1% difference, so the 4th and 5th position either Realme or Xiaomi (they both range 10-12%) but right now realme is no.4 surpassing Xiaomi. But since Realme is new contender here and able to catch Xiaomi and surpassed it, so right now Realme popularity is growing faster than Xiaomi, completely contradict from what your claim, while Asus now catching up with Xiaomi sales here, Asus able to defeat Xiaomi sales in the past, but Asus wasnt consistent to release their new phone models, that's why their sales go down.
Both Oppo and Vivo sales are more than twice Xiaomi's sales here. The main reason why Xiaomi's sales are not that good that because Xiaomi has poor quality control with high failure rate and low durability (breaks in just 1 year usage) compared to other brands, Indonesian people realised this, additionally xiaomi phones plagued by so many bugs, ads, often no signals and there are so many apps didn't work/incompatible.
Meanwhile, Samsung is still number 1 here with sales almost twice from Oppo or Vivo sales here. Sometimes you need to stop pretending that you know it just like others said before

Camera processing is different in the two models. There should be a difference between the two, even performance is very different (because of the SoC used)

        https://www.anandtech.com/show/14072/the-samsung-galaxy-s10plus-review

You can refer to this link for performance and camera differences. While the S10e Exynos gives goos shots, shadow is lacking and my X2 Pro actually does a good job in shots (the S10e is still very good anyway).

I swapped the S10e with an iPhone 11 due to battery problems (might have charged from a defective powerbank, but battery consumption is over the top). And obviously the X2 Pro. X2 Pro also perform better in games due to less SoC throttling.

Fading interest in flagship? This is exactly what you get for putting up 1000$ incremental upgrades. I am not going to sell my kidneys only because you've held me ransom by not selling previous generations of flagships.

Anonymous, 30 Jan 2020Sales increasing due to low end segment phones. Profit dec... moreNope. S10 and Note 10 aren’t selling that well. Remember how well the S8 and Note 8 sold? The same cannot be said for Samsung flagships last year. I don’t even think the S20 and Note 20 can fix this. Android phones aren’t supposedly too overpriced, even if they put nice features in it.

You should take a look at the realme X2 Pro and compare this with a Samsung S10. Assume the X2 Pro’s ads are gone. It will still be cheaper anyway. Not to mention Samsung has Samsung Gift and Push Service which displays ads in certain regions. This needs to stop.

TFM, 30 Jan 2020you are right next week poco X2 120hz display under 18K ind... moreSamsung S20 is too overpriced based on predictions.

In my region, X2 Pro costs almost the same as a Mi Note 10 Pro. Still cheap considering the specs.

An iPhone 11 (64Gb) gets you a S10 (128Gb, price at launch. Both are overpriced considering a Mate 30 Pro costs the same as a S10e at launch.

Display isn’t a deal-breaker to me. Performance, OS, and build quality matters the most fo me.

Just a friendly warning, K30 may be very cheap considering China price and that 120Hz display, but its structure is pretty weak. MIUI 11 is currently messed up. You might want to skip the Xiaomi for now.

X2 Pro is selling well in my country. Oh ROG Phone 2 is also a huge bargain in here, too. ROG Phone 2 costs only slightly more than the Mi Note 10 Pro and that’s offcially sold, not a black import.

So again Samsung needs to adjust its exorbitant pricing. You are wrong saying a Samsung is a bargain.

Just a thought, maybe I have mentioned this repeatedly.

These days many Chinese OEMs are racing to market phones with better quality control (build quality) and features at a competitive price. For example, in India and Indonesia, Xiaomi's popularity is growing very quickly. Higher tier models like the Mi Note 10 and Black Shark 2 are now being sold there because Xiaomi is more confident in their markets. Of course, there are weaknesses like the built-in ads, but in such countries, people are budget-conscious and want something cheaper with great features, at the expense of quality. Realme is also growing very fast, too. The X2 Pro is selling well, I bought one and enjoyed it (only weakness is the GPS thanks to aggressive power saving management, which must be adjusted manually).

Apple is still unbeaten. Though most of its products are a status symbol, people still count on its build quality and ecosystem. I have to say very many Apple products are unnecessarily overpriced. But sometimes people just want the quality (and ecosystem), not features and specs. I actually bought an iPhone for this reason, I didn't get the top tier model of course, because of value for money. Got the regular 11 (64GB) and satisfied but the decent screen and lack of telephoto cam, zoom is only 5x not 8x like my previous Samsung Note FE.

What about Samsung? I have seen that sales of the S10 and Note 10 series slowed down compared to the awesome S8 and Note 8. It seems that many Samsung phones aren't competitively priced recently. For example, in my country, A80 gets you a beefed up Mi Note 10 Pro or Oppo Reno 2 plus change. A30s/A40s gets you a better-specced Redmi Note 8 Pro. Samsung's just an Android overall, and considering that Samsung (flagship) phones are obsolette in the long run unlike Apple's. Only 2-3 years of security updates are meh. S20 prices are also projected to increase, and considering that, who wants to buy it despite its features?

Sorry Samsung, but you need to step up in terms of marketing. Oh, why is my friend's S8+ receiving Samsung ads? What's Samsung Push Service? Samsung Gift? Stop it, please, it's a flagship not a budget phone!

It's these Chinese companies... Samsung will continue. They seem to be in the process of turning things around and becoming more competitive. But the Chinese smartphone makers are the ones that are taking a slice out of the cake... Let's look at Xiaomi. The apple of China. Or oppo. Even huawei. And there's more. Those companies have risen. And even overtaken in some areas.
