I only see those who are languishing with iPhones use very very old sorry looking iPhones, compared to cheeky Android buyers who use pretty much cutting edge, latest even if it was very very cheap in terms of cost. When confronted with their old iPhones, you tend to get the sober looking response that it is still working (instead of saying, they can't afford to upgrade their iPhones)

Of course? fact is that most people buy cheap low end phones and that’s where Android marketshare mostly comes, i don’t understand your point? Android was ahead of Apple already in 2010. I can’t see how Apple could win against everyone else together and It’s never been their goal. Apple want to own the high end and ultra high end markets and currently they are dominant player there and i don’t think anything can really change that.
1 iPhone for every 6 Android phones sold sounds very good! well done Apple!

HTC is basicly out of the phone market, LG just announced that they lost 858 million last year with their phones. Nokia been deal for many years. Sony sales are few very minimal. Huawei doing great and huawei isn’t one of old companies.
But yes just like i said those others are hardly surviving and It’s a fact. None of those phone companies have told good news in years, so i don’t know what stuff you are following, but It’s just matter of time when those companies sell their phone business or just give up losing money all the time, or hardly making any, because that’s what they are currently doing.

Both Samsung and Apple are super lucky coz Gal Gadot was selling Huawei phones like hotcakes in US and Europe and if Huawei wasn't on the Entity List, it would have obliterated them by now.
My point was that Apple used to be so innovative and ahead of the pack. That's why the ipod sold more units than all other mp3 players combined. The first few years after the iphone release Apple used to sell 4 iphones for every android phone sold - now, they sell 1 iphone for every 6 android phones sold. The trend clearly shows that Android has overtaken the smartphone world and that the majority of iphone users have several years old phones because they can't afford to upgrade as often as android users.

If Huawei comes out with a Google replacement version of OS I will continue to use it. It is a great phone. I don't need to charge my phone 2 times a day like Samsung.

And these companies are a half decade older than iPhone.. Apple's Q4 success is because their releasing dates.. And there almost 60% of 328 million USA people do use iPhone..

They keep pointing at market shares as the measure of success, which is not how wall street view Apple's success. What is also funny is the fact they keep preaching "we want more option/competition" just not iOS it seems.

Apple is by far most succesful phone company ever in every measure which matters and their lead is getting bigger every year. Every other companies are fighting for their share because they all use same OS while Apple made something from scratch and because of that no-one can really touch them while most old smartphone companies are hardly surviving anymore except Samsung.
