Apple have a market for users who prefer a home button attached to the smaller price, they know where those customers stand when buying a product. Ship with the A13 and a sharp IPS Liquid Retina with a less than $/£400 price point. Winner Winner, laughing all the way to the bank

Amir khosru, 04 Feb 2020For se2, Need notch display and without homebutton like iph... moreWould cost higher if Apple decided to make the display edge-to-edge. Better to just keep with the old design of home button and big bezels. Apple have a market for consumers who prefer a home button and a lower price

Low key excited about this. It's success will be solely dependent on it's price point. anything more then 400 USD will just defeats its purpose of being a budget friendly phone.

Yes, I preferred small phone and if it does come with 4.7" display with bezel, I think it does not serve much purpose.

MagicMonkeyBoy, 01 Feb 2020Yet Qualcomm produce smaller cores. Less surface area. Yet ... moreYour comment once again shows you have absolute no knowledge and are just spewing things without logic.
The chipset surface area has a role to play with the transistors density. But the things that are getting smaller are the transistors, not the surface area of the SoCs.
Keep it up, monkeyboy.

Zuzuz, 01 Feb 2020If they do it they will loose the sales from top devices. Really? You think who their competitors? This is middle end class ,buyers will save their money to buy this one and u can imagine there is no people buy a71 or a51 and my be bellow that segment.

100% sure that Apple will need at least 5 years to sell all these 30-40 million "new" iPhones...

Aren't chipsets meant to be getting smaller. Not bigger. So Qualcomm is better. More advanced. Let's see if apple can make there A14 the same size as Qualcomm. And see if they could match the 875 2020 at the same sized surface area.

For the record, Android does RAM co... moreThe 875 will be built on 5nm+... That I do know. And yes. I do know this information already. And no. Qualcomm is not behind Apple. And if Qualcomm was supposedly 2 generations it behind and can already surpass the A13 even with just a reference device. Then clearly the A13 wouldn't stand at all a chance.
And no the 865 was developed and operation for 2019. (End of). However the 865 is above and beyond the A13 in so many other ways. AI to updated display support and optical support.
Out of the A13 and 865. 865 is by far supreme. And true multi tasking...
The A13 downclocks severely when more than one core is used. And the single core score is reduced considerably when more than one core is used.
Qualcomm does the opposite. It ramps up its single core capabilities. And does not decrease. So the more cores the Qualcomm SoC uses the better. Not the so with the A13.
And yes... For further evidence. Have a look at Gary explains... On YouTube. And you will see for yourself.

MagicMonkeyBoy, 01 Feb 2020They already do... Just you cannot see that.
And yes and... moreUsername checks out.
For the record, Android does RAM compression. You don't seem to understand how Android and iOS are written on a different platform. Java requires a lot more resources to run when compared to Swift. And that's one.
Two, you have yet to account for the bloatwares that manufacturers dump onto Android devices. Yes, it can be optimised further, but the truth is, an overwhelming amount of people are just using phones for simple tasks (gaming, texting, apping). These people couldn't be bothered so long the phone doesn't breakdown.
Three, the way Android OS was previously built calls for larger amount of RAM in order for the kernel to work around killing apps and recycling resources. As of Android Pie, this has change. Paying for anything more than 8GB, by near future standards, is just a shill. It may be called future proofing, but can you guarantee sticking to the same device for more than 4 years? Obviously not.
Four, there are tons of research reports on the size of Bionic A series vs SD 800 series SoC silicon. For the record, Bionics occupy a much larger surface area, and that translates to more transistors and thus a higher computing power.
Five, you are comparing an upcoming 2020 SD865 to a 2019 Bionic A13. A fair comparison will be the Apple's 2020 A14 Bionic, isn't it? Or are you just blindly posting without fact checking that the 865 is still on 2nd generation 7nm+ process while the A14 is to be produced on the 5nm node by TSMC? Face it, Qualcomm has always been a step behind Apple in terms of SoC efficiency and design. Confidently declaring the upcoming Snapdragon to blaze Apple's last year offering just makes you look like an absolute fool.
Please know your stuff and be objective before you start bashing. Don't dissuade others simply because you hate a particular brand for god knows whatever reason.

even though i want my next phone to break me from apple. i really hope this is a 13. itll be more than enough to disrupt the market. and take off android companies off their high horse and stupid screen cuts and edges. price should be lower than iphone 11 for sure which is all it needs to break these greedy price inflation. competition is a customer win.
