MTK is a crap, they always have a problem with overheating, there is no open bootloader on devices that uses it's SoC's and it is weaker, especially in GPU department, than alternatives from Qualcomm and Hi-silicon.
But this device is very cheap....so when someone is thinking to buy a device that will be thrown away in like 10 month or so, maybe this could be considered.
