An artist created Google Maps traffic jams by pulling a wagon full of smartphones

The amusing experiment made slowdowns appear on the app, likely diverting traffic. Google responds to the stunt.

[deleted post]Currently it is the only reliable Online map service that is available for free. It is highly accurate as long as someone doesn't set out to experiment or tamper with it.

Note7 owner, 04 Feb 2020It's certain no Huawei were in the wagon. And Huawei will never have the same bloatware that will affect the future tech. LOL

Well, it was an experiment no one did because everyone knew already the outcome.

Zorvani, 04 Feb 2020Is it art really????Yes because you can use this fake traffic jam to spell a giant red ART on your city. Or Hi or whatever your devilish mind can imagine. Admittedly it will require quite a few phones (but you can buy second hand junk phones for the occasion) and you'll need a team to pull it off

Zorvani, 04 Feb 2020Is it art really????the author is being sarcastic when he used the word
            "ART"

Zorvani, 04 Feb 2020Is it art really????When they say art they are literally referring to the red traffic lines that get drawn on to the maps app showing fake traffic jam.

I always used to to think it should be possible theoretically. Since Google uses only crowd sourced data for the traffic layer on its maps.

                  Is it art really????
