Plastic are engineering materials that can have better physical properties than metal. Some polymer grades are up to $200 USD per kg, which can be up to 100 times more expensive than the metals used. Even mass production grades used are already $25/kg as you need to remember the ones used for phones needs to be flame retardant grades.

My 6.5" 21/9 phone is loose in my jean pocket when my previous 5.7 16/9 phone barely fit into it. also the small bezel of today's phone make the 2" smaller phones from 5years ago like brick monsters.
And I use the 6.5" 21/9 phone only with one hand because it's too narrow for my two hands and there is no place for my fingers on the back. The only phone I found really big was the Lumia 1520 with only 6" (but 16/9 and 10mm bezels). Size doesn't mean anything. Also balance in weight is extremly important (I disliked the P30Pro for this).

Remember how everyone dislike plastic phones? Now everybody love plastic phones because they make the plastic shiny. LOL.
The A71 is going to be have a hard time finding buyers. People would either gravitate towards the A51 for less, or just go all the way to the S/Note phones for just a bit more. I mean if you're already spending that much money, you probably prefer to have a Galaxy S than an A.

It cost almost 500 euros in my country. For that price, it will be better to buy the new Xiaomi mi 10

t retains what was already great about the Galaxy A70 - the big 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen... - do people really think phones above 6" are great? I have huge hands but can't hold anything above 6" myself. Will not upgrade from my phone anymore...let's see if other customers will do.

Samsung switched, then people complained because glass is fragile and the removable back is sealed.
I guess people likes to complain but ended up buying stuff they complained
