Year after year it's just one boring incremental update after another. It's gotten so boring that companies like Xiaomi and others are releasing the same smartphones under different names in a sad attempt to fool ignorant customers.

The only real thing that truly matters is battery tech, but I guess OEMs are more busy with things like "gaming smartphones" and stuffing as many cameras on the back of their devices as possible lol.

So what? This is the company that has promised pro video, and 8kp30 fir a long time, but where have they delivered? The filesystem upgrade will help, but if this gets true 8k first, then tell red magic 3 purchasers about it! Who have long suffered their 8k stutter vision, when they where to get smooth 8k.

No headphone with cancer notch. K bye

Nick.B, 06 Feb 2020Aw, same poor camera setup in premium high end device. Why?... moreIt would have been better to put a motorized camera and drop the cheap selfie cam, abolishing the ugly notch. Perfect is a 16:9 flat display with sharp edges so that all pixels can be seen: Good for watching videos, and still good enough for reading ebooks.

BT is a shared medium: easy to eavesdrop and not reliable. The 3.5mm jack is more sturdy and durable than the micro USB jacks.

I love how the RAM options are "bare minimum" or "purely for bragging rights". Like, seriously.

There is no real-world usage scenario... I repeat... THERE IS NO REAL-WORLD USAGE SCENARIO in which a smartphone can exceed 10GB of RAM usage. Period. In fact, other than in the professional sector, it's extremely rare for even a desktop PC to exceed 10GB of RAM usage.

When are we going to make a return to sanity in the smartphone market? Phones are now a literal mish-mash of gimmicks and marketing fluff. Hyper elongated aspect ratios, curved displays, sextuple camera arrays, punch-holes, in-screen fingerprint sensors... on and on and on. The only meaningful improvement to the modern smartphone is the high refresh rate display, and even that is getting out of hand with battery guzzling 120Hz. Can we just stop at 120Hz? Nooo... later this year we will have 144Hz displays on phones (because it's higher than 120Hz and matches the standard for PC gaming displays). So now all of the gains we've made with battery size and fast-charging tech are out the window as smartphone companies race to have the highest refresh rate in the slimmest phone.

Does anyone want to start a smartphone company with me?

As a heads up GSMArena, this is LITERALLY the Axon 10 from last year but with the SnapDragon 865, new UI, and WiFi 6 support. It's not any more different which means same battery, same 1080p AMOLED panel, same speakers, wireless charging, and same exact camera lens.

Hence why, despite the solid price, I'm skipping it. They need a 'true' sequel to the Axon 7 with those speakers, headphone jack, bigger battery, and 2K AMOLED panel.

Samsung produced a curved screen, hyped it and sold in millions.
Now when they received a tons of negative feedback from its users the company going back to a flat screen while selling curved panels to other OEMs for their to be used in their latest/ best.
