I have been using the 'Your Timeline' feature for 12 months. I can't find it in the upgraded app on my android phone. The hamburger button is there with a question mark. What does that mean?

I'm really excited to try the Live View feature. Hopefully, it's already available for cities like New York.

Google Maps just keeps getting worse and worse. The map is overlayed with some many things trying to shove non-map information in front of your face only half of the screen is left for the map anymore. You have to waste time constantly getting this stuff to go away and then if you accidentally click on almost anything it all comes flying back up. It's super annoying.
The purpose of all of this seems to be to just post what are likely paid ads on the map or distract you with information to track your interests more. Maps was great in the beginning. Google has ruined it with a bazillion annoying features.

Two people were using the OnePlus 7 Pro and had the same problems. That phone is considerably faster than mine with Snapdragon 855.

HovadoLesni, 07 Feb 2020First time I hear this. And I use the maps since Samsung s4... moreYeah, you mentioned you had been using Google Maps since the S4 and now you're on the S10. The S10 is A LOT more powerful than my device which has a Snapdragon 820. Back when you were using your S4, the Google Maps app was considerably less bloated and ran smoothly on all devices.
These days it runs terrible because of all the bloat and terrible optimisation. I realise my phone is outdated but it is still well specced and gets around 160K in AnTuTu. There is no reason Google Maps should require more performance than that.

That makes zero sense. I haven't had one of their devices since the iPhone 4. And guess what, Apple Maps didn't even exist back then!
When I use Google Maps on my Snapdragon 820 device, it is very laggy and stutters badly when scrolling around the screen. I tried using offline maps but that doesn't make a difference. I have heard the same critisms from a lot of other people on Reddit, so it's not just me.

Google maps doesn't stutter or lag on 150 dollar phones, let alone a flagship.
Go back to your toy OS and keep dreaming about current Android features that you'll get in 2030.

Google Maps is a disgrace nowadays. The app has been packed with useless features and bloat, it is so badly optimised that it lags and stutters even on high-end phones. I have heard reports of horrible performance even on SD845. The app is pathetic and needs to be rewritten from scratch.
Meanwhile, Apple Maps on my father's iPhone SE (Apple A9) is running super-smooth with barely any stuttering.
