It is the same process as downloading a .exe , .zip , .rpm, etc. It is a process that the least educated tech users have done for decades (proof is in the big fish games launchers, free movie apps, and browser toolbars found all over peoples computers). Why do we all of a sudden need to hold their hand when its a different file extension.
This will become a bidding ground since those not willing to download an .apk will just use what is on the phone. It also destroys competition when say Spotify or YouTube music comes pre-installed and the user will never look elsewhere and just use what is on the device. This then ends up hurting everyone.

The fact that you don't need one doesn't represent the rest of the population. 7 out of 10 people do have banking app in their phone. Just look at the download counter in google play of any major bank in your country.

They might not tamper with bootloader unlocking.
But installing an apk file is easy and you don't need to be a technical expert or nerd to do that.

Pre-installed software = bloatware. Nobody wanted the apps to be pre-installed. What people want is for the apps to be available in the app gallery, and they decide which one they want to install.
This is stupid move. However it is typical for the Chinese. All Chinese phones, including Xiaomi etc that are not using Global ROM, are filled with a ton of bloatware of apps. Huawei should learn already from OnePlus. Non Chinese markets don’t like bloatware.

Since most bank apps allow that basic functionality, I'd take them over browser versions any day of the week. We are in 2020, not 2010 to use edge or chrome for banking

People called Samsung devices are full of bloatware because it has its own Store aswell as Googles but then Huawei have their own store.
Huawei have overtaken Samsung in terms of bloatware and I bet a good 40 of these Apps will be Chinese made Apps.
Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, Whatsapp and Tik Tok will be on there. I wonder what the other 66 are :/
