Microsoft Surface Duo spotted in the wild, very much a work in progress

Microsoft has given early-access units to developers, this might be one of them.

Does the Duo run Android and mobile version of Windows 10? If only Android, this is a massive fail..

You don't even research a darn thing about what you've been talking about for months. The Escobar family are so rich that they bought a lot of Royole FlexPais and resell it at a lower price to launder money. Your kind disgusts me mentally.

Of course it will be much more expensive then the bulky, plastic and in comparison limited hinge of the G8X. Its nowhere near as refined as the Duo seem to be in physical appearance.

At least they are trying to do something that could spur a bit of a different use, compared to another android bar style phone which would add no value at all to consumers.

The dual screen phone was already tried by LG and nothing has become of it. Microsoft better not try it, really it would be just laughable to see microsoft start building android phones and then becoming a failure at that too.

Would buy that if it was running on Windows 10 on Arm and not Android. It would then have a distinct character and abilities.
There are simply too much Android devices on market.

it can be useful, but the bezels are just so 2015. Dont get me wrong, I love my surface devices (had a surface 2 which stopped working right after the 1 year warranty passed, surface 4 which was a little too big for me to carry as a daily meeting device, and the surface go which i think is the best size, but man those bezels are huge and the performance just meh).

Ive been longing for a device that i can use as a tablet for note taking and presentation during meetings and powerful enough that i can use it for work, but also small enough to use as a phone. If they can combine the functionality then maybe we can carry 1 device instead of 2.

While the glaxy Fold and Huawei mate x are beautiful, they are just not practical in the real world.

Surface Duo harder to use as a phone if there's no rear screen.
Let's see how people will like foldable "tablet".

AnonD-771260, 10 Feb 2020Right, this was a little bit strange video for "spy" video ... moreI think it all comes down to what you primarily use your phone for. For media consumption I agree this is not the form factor. Personally I love this form factor and think it would help me very much as I am often travelling and need to work from my phone.
Being able to compose an email on one screen while having a ppt, excel, pdf or browser on the other with what you are discussing in the email instead of shifting back and forth, is something that would be very helpful for me. Or casually watching youtube/browsing the web while having a chat open on the other screen.

Can't wait! From now on, I throw 3 bucks a day in pig head hahah

seems to me this is a real "smart phone", as in a phone with an note book (as in phone book, appointment diary, time schedule - appointment recorder..) and some utility tools, not a half-assed photocamera or a cra...mpy game display with an phone appendix.

I just wonder, how to chk messages or see who is calling? Do I need to open the flip everytime to see that? How I'm supposed to take selfie?
However, if they can make web, pdf and doc spanned in two display like one tablet/foldable phone..then plz take my money.

AnonD-771260, 10 Feb 2020Right, this was a little bit strange video for "spy" video ... moreAs long as dual screen have a thin middle bezel, unlike the G8X or Axon M, it could made a transitional device between candy bar and foldable phones, just imagine having multiple monitors on PC. You could see on how Microsoft shaped its OS to be functioned like a real foldable one, and in this day foldable screens are rather still flimsy yet luxurious.

                                      1- That's a shamelessly rebranded Royole Flexpai?
2- They released the Fold 2, which is a shamelessly rebranded Samsung Galaxy Fold with a low quality case on it? See https://www.theregister.co.uk/2020/02/04/escobars_fold_2/
3- That's just money laundering and they don't actually sell it or have any kind of actual association with the true OEMs?

You're not getting a foldable at an affordable price anytime soon. Seek to cheap out and you'll be scammed
