Samsung Galaxy Buds+ hands-on review

11 February 2020
Better battery life, better sound and better in-call quality.

Sort by:

I own Airpods, airpods pro, galaxy buds and echo buds, they all sound great except the airpods. I regret the buying Galaxy buds because I bought them two weeks ago and threw away the receipt. They work really well on an IPhone but lack a lot if the features that are on android. If I would have waited, could have got these. Maybe I’ll return the echo buds and get these for the gym.

Airpods may be better but they have improved battery life, call taking and sound quality so it's hard to say airpods are guaranteed to be better. They are Apple so they get automatically over rated by standard.

I want and waiting simultaneously peering option, like Wireless Sennheiser momentum 2.0. Is it so difficult to do this?
It's will be the best upgrade because, when I'm using my mac or laptop, I will peer my phone and mac to my buts simultaneously.

they have better call quality but that's about it because air pods has poor isolation they boosted their bass to compensate which deteriorate the mids, galaxy buds imo has a complete upper hand in sound department

It is so greedy move to remove 3.5 jack and push to buy this, while it's obviously worse than airpods (even non-pro), sony, and someone just don't like tws. Had they started believing in being apple?

It's 2020, 11 Feb 2020no anc = no buyI'm really curious about why people valued ANC greatly. Why for some people it is a deal breaker if it doesn't have ANC? Is it because Apple, Sony, etc have that feature? Or are they actually can't live without ANC in their buds?
The only time where I think ANC would be useful is if you want to get some sleep but you're bothered with the ambient noise or you just want to have a more quiet environment without playing any music. Unlike headphones (even over-ear type), this is in-ear buds, meaning that it will seal your ear better than headphones. Sure, you can still hear ambient sound if music is not playing but it should isolate better than over-ear. And once you play a music, you basically can't really hear ambient sound unless you're next to a construction site or something. Personally, I prefer not to activate ANC because the main use for earphone/headphone is for music. If I want to reduce ambient sound only (without hearing music), I just use an earplug. What some people didn't realize is that when you activate ANC, it also affects the sound quality that came from the speaker too! Just watch the reviews of something with ANC, you'll notice that every review said that when ANC is on, the sound becomes different (worse). Basically because how ANC works, by generating inverted signal/phase, which unfortunately also affects the audio came from the speaker itself.
ANC for me is one of the feature that is nice to have, but I definitely wouldn't want to pay a lot of money for it, especially not in an in-ear style buds. The most important thing for me for this type of buds (TWS) is sound quality (because I listen to music a lot), then the fit (needs to be comfortable and not falling off), then the control (some TWS have a crappy way on how they handle various functions), then call quality (because I might receive call from my phone and a lot of TWS have crappy microphone setup). There are also other thing that I definitely will pay attention to when I'm purchasing a TWS, like battery life, how easy/fast it can charge, size, the codec it supported, etc. ANC? well, I actually don't really pay attention to it. I mainly use in-ear and never in my life that I thought about "it would be nice if it has ANC". Ambient sound pass-thru tho... that is certainly a feature that I want and definitely important! It is important because if you like to walk around in a busy street with your earphone, you actually don't want to block the ambient sound because it is not safe. It is too bad that most of Chinese TWS doesn't have ambient sound mode. The produced a lot of cheap but good quality sounding TWS, but no ambient sound mode.

This is the best device announced today. Dual driver should improve audio quality and bigger battery should help with battery life and not crazy price. Only question mark is fit and would like to see reviews about sound quality.

Phones on the other hand are too expensive.

Dual driver should hopefully lead to better audio quality. Only issue is fit. I tried to put comply tips on previous gen buds but it was not charging in the case with the tips. Otherwise it was good and connectivity with samsung phones was super fast and easy. I will get this one when there is a deal. I would pay $100 for this.

The first gen also cost 159 euros, which is 10 less than these, not 20.

The first gen Buds have the Ambient noise feature as well. Get your facts right.
