ZTE is a major product sold by Telstra in Australia. Up until recently most of their phones have been rubbish, but who knows. HTC touch screens were terrible in the early models, and now they are one of the market leaders here.
          So again, who knows.
Their handsets certainly can't get any worse...

The quality of China brand phone is always in question mark. People run after specs and china vendor give u specs on the sheet but inside.....???
            >Compare camera picture quality of Branded Phone Vs china Phone.
            >Compare radiation level of braned ph vs china phone
            >Compare the music quality, frequency response distortion.
            >Compare battery cycle life specially when on load
            >Compare print quality of printed name/symbols
            >Compare CPU performance/buffer clearence
            >Compare video quality specially at low light and frame rate
            >Compare quality of build with internal semiconductors
            > See the overall aging parameter.

There are many things like this which customers / people don't check and finally land up buying China phone and degraded their quality of life. Since people don't know about these parameters, the china vendors compromise quality in various aspects of phone and produces u a cheaper phone.

Always thought this company was well known outside Asia, like Orange San Francisco aka ZTE Blade. Currently, they have a multitude of handsets on sale in the UK. They are very good too. Nokia, thought they had gone, until I decided to acquire a Lumia 710....and dispute its faults...does it feel quality by comparison! Ericsson were like that feeling too, so what went wrong?

ZTE are great.....but.....time will tell. Still feel both Nokia and Ericsson should be in the smartphone market in a different way. The Sony Xperia S, clearly Ericsson influenced still...is good, but could have been so much better. ZTE have stolen the thunder, maybe for good....but are they the Ericsson of tomorrow? No, sadly never will be.

You know, some people out there made a quick conclusion that whatever brands coming out from China are destined to fail or lose out.

Like Huawei, ZTE has a deep pocket full of cash, and its got backings from the local countryman and gov., which at any given time has the world biggest market at their very own backyard. To reach that target may not be impossible.

Before Samsung and LG, the same thing were said about them because Ericsson and Nokia were the leader then.

As at today, I do not know where those critics' hide their head now. Ericsson no longer active in consumer handset race. Nokia started to show signs of tiring after the "guy" took a different path down the road.

                                  Sony (xperia)

What's ZTE stand for? I mean ZTE should have creat its own line like galaxy / xperia, China go go go...

there are more than 1 billion people in china, even if they can sell to 1% of the population, that's 10 million handsets, and that's just in their own country.

Since all other handset introduced through the world market, ZTE is unkown in most of Pacific Islands region. Especially in Papua New Guinea ZTE is not recognised yet and when it will be introducing to PNG, it would be very demand and the expected to meet the target for selling ZTE through out Pacific island countries.
