The phone's unique ability to stay half folded is seen as a major new development in user experience.

I'... moreThe way I see it, Huawei rushed the Mate X and fortunately for them the Fold took the brunt of the issues faced by Foldable tech. That was Huawei's chance to take the lead in this space but they couldn't because their phone had issues too. Hence the delay. To-date, the Mate X was never officially released. There are only two reviews on YouTube. What matters is who is ahead of the foldable tech and who has the most visible presence. That is Samsung. The company that has been working on foldable tech for 10+ years.

Now that Samsung has foldable glass it's game over. For the Fold 2 Samsung can go inside or outside (like the mate X), minus the durability issues. They could make their own Mi Alpha if they want. No one is buying a plastic foldable now so none of the talk about who is first, who rushed or who copied matters. Samsung's game is to build their brand through foldable tech and get as far ahead of apple before they start doing foldables. Huawei and Motorola don't matter now. Plastic foldables are dead.

I'm only poking fun at companies trying to act like their product is so wholly original and innovative when there are/have been similar products by other companies. The Razr's announcement, like the Mate X, might have made Samsung rush things again.

I love when company went serious with design and durability aspect on their product. Although it is expensive.

I think this device is meant to grab customers from Apple to switch to Android with this in particular. Can't deny about the quote about the eye of the beholder. The iPhone is a sight to behold and Androids are just too edgy to these fashion conscious majority. I'm glad Samsung is doing this.

I want Samsung to launch mini laptops to usher in a new era, a new beginning of mobile computing. Windows 10 is godly operating system. Samsung must team up with Microsoft to defeat the Google & Apple Nexus.

                    [deleted post]For sure.

I don't get why manufacturers advertise the 'design' as one of they key features of their phones... I mean, I either like how it looks or I don't, why do you need to tell me if it looks good?

Anyway. Glad that Samsung went this way. Most people seem to agree that this folding form is the correct one, so we should (fingers crossed) see more devices like this in near future.

Do you seriously think that Samsung copied Razr's design and came up with this in a matter of 1-2 months? They must have been working on this since the Galaxy Fold probably and it trumps the razr in every single aspect including the price.

"...one of fashion and hinge design innovation." Right... if they announced this before the Razr, I would have believed it.
