None of the big established brands even released a so-called "gaming smartphone" yet, and they most likely won't, either. Modern-day smartphones simply can't be further improved upon, except in the computational photography and/or camera hardware department.

The rear camera design reminds me of the anime character Tien from Dragon Ball Z lol. Honestly, I'm not hating it.

When the Pixel 4 was released, majority of the tech bloggers and youtubers praised it as the "best Android experience," even though it has poor battery life, questionable radar gestures, etc. All the youtubers got special review units packed fancily packed.
Besides, Google is not really after anything with the Pixel. They just feel they can squeeze out more money from their die hard stock Android fans. It's a side business. As long as the tech bloggers and youtubers are easily bribed with the review units, the Pixel brand will remain in the collective consciousness.

Apparently, photography is one of the most important features of a smartphone in this age. Every manufacturer is looking to bridge the gap but they all look the same to me.

The problem is the Google doesn't take the making of phones seriously. They make huge money on other things, phones are just for fun. Sometimes I think that Google isn't just having fun but loudly laughing at us on every release of new Pixel :).

Please bring back the 2 tone back design on pixel 2 and 3 to your latest models. That was a trademark design.
