It was cop... moreWell, I hadn't seen that kind of a speaker in a phone before Mix, not to say it surely was unprecedented, but it wasn't a highly innovative game changer; still better "innovation" than dropping the jack. You could say the Mix Alpha is like a folded Mate X, but one is for sure, the Mix series are xiaomi's most experimental phones and someone had to push Sharp's attempts to the public.

Anonymous, 16 Feb 2020Isn't it ironic to cancel your plans wrt to an already canc... moreI thought of that as well. It seems a bit hilarious, but I remember GSMArena stating in an article it is unclear what will happen with pre-MWC events, though I can't read the statement to know what Nubia said. Attendance would be much lower to such events without MWC though.

AnonD-914486, 15 Feb 2020Exactly what I wanna say!!!
To be honest I live in Europe ... moreI guess my original comment (I don't think it is your username that much) made many oppose you like you were trolling, which I didn't think you were reading your other comments even if I decided not to epxlicitly write it then. You seem quite reasonable.
TL;DR: non-Nubia ZTE was widespread in my (european) country half a decade ago but its offerings are not as varied anymore. OnePlus has always been everywhere. A few Oppo and Vivo phones scarcely appear on small unknown stores. No GMS on widespread Huawei phones and I didn't know Realme ones were available, while I have bad build quality experiences with Lenovo products; its phones being also limited.
A European as well, non-Zubia ZTE was quite popular and widespread half a decade ago in my country, but their options are quite limited nowadays. As a tech and smartphone enhusiast, I knew OnePlus from when the One was released and you can find them everywhere; I remember seeing a then outdated oneplus X for 200€ some years back at a store and I would be surprised if they didn't have it when relevant. A limited variety of Oppo and Vivo phones periodically show up in unknown small stores and at the time of writing I can only find 2017 Vivo models at release prices. I knew Oppo from watching Tech Altar, the man behind it being a former Oppo employee, and Vivo from seeing them topping jack audio lists back at 2014, even though now I could only find one post from then supporting that. Huawei is widespread but has no GMS and Realme surprisingly is available; I did not know that, it might be a new advancement. Lenovo is mostly prominent in tablets and laptops, with not as many phones available, but I had fixed a tablet charger only to find out the port had died as well after 7 months, and I have heard from relatives about a broken smartphone port as well and a broken glass (well, no Gorilla Glass), to be sceptical about trusting their build quality.
That being said, I am that person who really liked their Microsoft Lumia 650 and like many on here knew about brands like Fairphone long ago and the Sharp Aquos Crystal before anyone made so slim top and side bezels, might check unknown brands sold in their country (or elsewhere) like AGM (quad JBL-tuned speakers on the A9) and personally knows people who have TP-LINK neffos phones.

Anonymous, 15 Feb 2020I meant it is me I am correcting, the way I expressed that ... moreExactly what I wanna say!!!
To be honest I live in Europe not in Asia, so there from all Chinese spectre of companies like Oppo, Vivo, Realme, ZTE, Xiaomi, OnePlus and Huawei only Xiaomi and Huawei are widely spread and OnePlus merely exists in some online sites from 2-3 years but Oppo, Vivo, Realme, ZTE - these companies have never existed in my country, you can't buy literally nothing from them both in stores or online and that's why I don't know almost any phone models from them or their sub-brands...

[deleted post]I meant it is me I am correcting, the way I expressed that doesn't seem right. I will not keep correcting me, do not worry.
Not to be irrelevant in this xiaomi-nubia battle, nubia isn't available in my country so we would have a clear winner if it was a duopoly

Whackcar, 15 Feb 2020A company that makes innovative products, unlike Xiaomi...Xiaomi does actually innovate, like the planned 100W fast charging.
Some of the 'innovations' are recycled, however, if you remember the design of the Mi 8 and A2, so you're half right. This changed in the Mi Note 10, with its 108MP cam.
It's Oppo who recycles stuff over and over again. Reno and Reno 2 had the shark fin popup cam, now it's gone on the Reno 3. Lower models pathetically copies other OEMs and sell it at exorbitant prices. Ex. A9 (2020) looks like most other phones, ex. Vivo Z1 Pro. Also has poor LCD screen and camera, chipset is worse. Then slap buyers 20% extra price.

AnonD-914486, 15 Feb 2020What is Nubia?Should you not just be dismissing the company in favor of Xiaomi, having stated that you are the most fanatical Xiaomist (no problem with that, I even have a Xiaomi phone, although the A3 wasn't the best choice for my kind of usage), there follows an answer.
It is a chinese company specializing in smartphones, while it has also released other products like a smartwatch and TWS earbuds.
You will often see nubia products be reffered as zte nubia. That is because nubia used to be a zte subsiduary, even though it has by now become an indepedent company.
The Red Magic 5G is its latest gaming phone to be released.
