Samsung said that they won't put UTC for the Fold 2 because it's too fragile. Fold 2 must come with a special pen for the cheap screen plastic.

All you crybabies whining about the crease of the foldables are not required to buy it - If you think it is bad, then just go buy a normal phone.

When you fold any solid object, of course there will be a crease. When youve got foldable devices its also natural to have some trace of the 'fold'. Those complaining about that are imagining a world full of unicorns. These products are not for everyone.

What's important is that these companies are innovating the tech and pushing boundaries. Some other 'big companies' doesnt even have 5g devices yet and are releasing old new phones in March. For sure the sheeps will call that 'another big innovation'.

All this is totally meaningless as long as they use that fragile plastic (or UTG) as screen hardware.

This is nuts. A Fold has too many screens already to use main camera as selfie.

Under-Display Cams should be used in bar form-factor phones first and foremost.

I would be more pumped to see that feature on Note 20... since the Note is the phone I might actually consider buying...

To me, aside from UTG(absolutely MUST) and stellar battery, camera and hinge performance, the outer screen's size and ratio is of extremely importance!
having a decent sized outer screen will boost single handed and general usability, reducing the need for the larger inner screen for day to day tasks which translates to less hinge friction, which translates longer battery and device life!
OH and make the damn thing symmetrical(like Z-flip) when closed!
                  all the best!

AnonD-917476, 17 Feb 2020Personally not a fan of folding phones. Looked at the Galax... morePersonally I think galaxy Fold could be more practical - at least you are getting bigger screen/mini tablet.
Of course it depends on your needs.

Is there still a damaged hard crease line in the middle of the screen, as in Samsung Galaxy Fold? The low quality of the Samsung foldable panel simply doesn't support the basic design of Samsung Galaxy Fold. When Samsung's engineers tried to impose a design on a material they don't fully understand, a fiasco is assured, as in 2019. If you take a look at Galaxy Z Flip, the hard crease line is still clearly visible, i.e., no significant improvement has been made to the foldable panel. What can you expect? Another fiasco?

Whackcar, 17 Feb 2020We all know that UD cameras have been in development for so... moreBut their UDC are not ready for prime time. They are still trying to figure out how to design the screen to allow more light to pass through. Without enough light the camera's image quality is compromised. So for now, their UDC's are just concepts meant to bring attention to the brand. I'm not even sure Samsung's UDC is ready and if Samsung has any sense they would stay away from another controversy this year if they can. If it is not ready, don't do it Samsung.

Personally not a fan of folding phones. Looked at the Galaxy Z flip. But you see the huge creasein the middle. So personally cant justify £1300. Im all for decent camera and decent battery.

Still feel it's too small when opened. Ive been rocking a Note since the 2nd iteration and want the main screen to be about 6.5" at least and when opened, close to 10". That would make sense. Right now, the main screen isn't even 5" and when it opens up, it's a little bit bigger than a Note 10+. And to add insult onto injury, in it's folded state, it's like two Galaxies stacked on each other!

The Z Flip makes sense. The Fold doesn't. And throw a S Pen with that Fold, too and now we're talking.

The size of the Galaxy Fold is perfect, they just need to make the bezels smaller, the overall phone thinner, and get rid of the notch. Obviously, the screen needs to be more durable, too. If Samsung can deliver all these WITHOUT making the phone bigger, they have a winner on their hands.
