At $279 in the US, from phone carriers only, it's too expensive. Carriers will throw it in "for free" with a plan, so this $279 price is probably highly inflated.
Too bad the LTE is part of the Exynos SOC, so it can't be taken out to reduce pricing.
And Android 10 please. It's 2020.

Its really annoying that these tablets have such poor specs. They seem to be consistently using leftover SoCs that barely serve a phone well these days. Using a SoC with *less* performance than a 2016 phone in 2020 is just embarassing. I don't want to have to wait for a page to render - the internet connection should be the bottleneck, not the edge device.

Samsung? wheres the s series for thr 8 inch ....THE ultimate formfactor for portability?
S2 8 inch from 2015 is what i still use. i bought the s200 ftom HK, but its noe a glorified mp3 player, gps in my car. the s2 is what i carry with me ALL the time. I'd pay 700,800 for a s6 8.1,2 inches

I have bought tab a 8 2019 w spen with primary purpose as web browsing, light gaming and watching YouTube video (which puts Huawei out of consideration - even without the issue, I hate their screen and silly fingerprint/button placement).
SPen, earpiece in lte version and the 8 inch form factor are all marvellous, I absolutely love it. It also surprisingly can run some casual game smoothly. But 3gb ram/32gb rom are both way too small, and there is no fingerprint, no quickcharge while battery is very small for the thickness/size (4200mah).
I know it's compromises I have to make for the price, but I am willing to pay more for an future improved version that address these shortfalls. Therefore, I am so disappointed that for this new release, they seem just make the display larger, add rom only and remove the spen (omg). I can only hope the rumor here is inaccurate..... as it looks I will get stuck for another year.

I also hope that it must have low radiation levels just like every Samsung phone. Well in short Samsung is no 1 company from past 6 years and no other company has potential to even stand with Samsung. Samsung doesent depend upon any Chinese company. It has every thing of it's own. Good luck Samsung you are the best.

I hope they price it properly - lower than the base model Apple iPad Mini 5. This is an A series tablet after all. And 128GB expandable storage, please.

I still like the original Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Man the screen on that is still immense.
