Anonymous, 18 Feb 2020l have the Razer Phone and don't have to worry about any of this.Have had True 90hz refresh since July, 2019. There are only maybe a handful of games that even support 120fps. Sony is the only one allowing cod to run 120. 90 is the sweet spot I believe in mobile gaming. Fhd+. Talk about silk, and such speed!!

Then S10 was 6.1",... moreagreed. i forgot to mention the weight, should be 150g max. nowadays phone are getting huge and massive. Xiaomi Mi 9 SE is my choice. 70mm width, 150g weight, excellent camera. Yes, it's a mid ranger. But flagships are a no choice for me these days.
What's more, all phone looks curvier than ever before. S20 is ugly just like A series, S10 and Note 10 are much better with sharp edges.
The render of iPhone 9 looks nice tho, with the sharp edges.
Come on, give us some varieties, not just boring huge curvy glass sandwich.

lacp, 19 Feb 2020a good smartphone with snapdragon 865 is better than any po... moreI'm pretty sure what he meant was that you can't really play fps games properly on a phone... The display is too small and the controls are hard and stupid. While you are right that modern processors beat older consoles like PS3 by a huge margin, you didn't consider that they released 12 years ago and had a controller that could actually be used to play fps games. You also compared it to the switch, which can't even run witcher 3 at medium setting. Right now, if you are playing competitively on your phone, you're either a kid or a person who can't afford gaming PC or consoles. That said, it is ok to play casually, when you're outside then the portability of a smartphone comes handy. So then my final point is, phones marketed for serious players who take mobile gaming very competitively, is a big joke, just like what the original commenter said. The best you can do is play games like Zelda, fps games on mobile is a fucking disgrace to everyone.

This is simply a large jump at once - why not make 90hz an option instead of full-blown 120hz. Apps would surely benefit from 90hz compared to 60hz and the drain prob wouldn't be much higher.

Sadly, nowadays, companies think compact means 6.2" or 6.3".
In worst case scenario, we will need to buy mid-range to low-end phones if we want 5.8"-6" size lighter phones (no more than 150g). Which I already did.

Go try other androids with high refresh rates, like 1+, asus, realme.
Considerably more smoother than latest iphones, no stutters, etc.

Tested all S20 line models in Samsung store and must say that 120Hz looks great, there is only one issue - Android itself! Every scroll of page/app stutters no matter if 60/120hz settings. Lets say the total time of one scrolling is around 1 second - it is smooth 80-90% of time, but then it stutters! Everytime (and on every android phone). Seems like android cant keep up to draw all parts of web page on time to be able to offer smooth scrolling experience. I have tried Google Chrome and default Samsung browser as well. Same bad experience. I wish there was a way to force android to draw any image on screen at constant 60FPS at all time! I would not care if pictures on web page etc are loaded little bit later as far as the page doesn't stutter.
