I actually used to share the same thoughts as you and became angry over the lack of updates. But then OP acknowledged (through the Community Forums) that they couldn't work on the updates as they should because of the CORONAVIRUS, and so I had to gain a bit more empathy and understanding on their predicament.

Also, what better OEM is there if you claim that OP is "another generic Chinese OEM"? Xiaomi and its bloated mess of a software? Huawei with NO Google Services at all? Oppo which has an even worse track record at software updates than Xiaomi? Samsung's $1400 insanity?

Oneplus has failed its user-base. I was one of them. In the past, oneplus was well known for creating only flagship devices, meaning there would only be 1 model each release, and it would be the best. Today, oneplus has changed into just another generic chinese phone-maker. They release several models together, some with lower spec hardware. This literally removed oneplus as the flagship-maker title. Now, will all these varying models released, oneplus is having trouble updating all of them promptly. Updates are released late, bugs are not fixed on time, as their resources is now spread thin among all the different models. it is sad. Oneplus has lost its direction and unique identity.
