vem, 23 Feb 2020The sales are hyped and there's nothing ground breaking wit... more"nothing ground breaking"... that's a tough sell right there. the fact that it is foldable makes it groundbreaking. it is not the first in this form factor nor this folding configuration, but this is far more solid than all the other folding phones/tablets that have existed so far. the specs may not be at par with this year's flagships, but the pricing is understandable- the fact that you can fold it when not being used is reason enough for this pricing.

after all the youtube videos and that jerry rig torture, i still can say the z flip is actually tough. well, i did not have the luxury to drop nor dismember a unit but i was given 30 minutes at a local samsung store to fondle the device. the crease is there- it cannot be avoided, but the overall feel is very much premium as with any other flagship smartphones.

"so why pay the premium just for opening and closing the lid whenever you use your phone"-- that's exactly why they are charging you premium- so you can fold the phone to a smaller form factor. i mean who wouldn't want the ability to fold a device into a smaller form factor when not in use? given the chance to be able to do that with current flagships, wouldn't it be better if they were foldable?

AnonD-762416, 23 Feb 2020They've already projected they'll sell 2.5 million of these... moreThe Flip will sell way less than the Fold because at least the latter provides a bigger screen when it's unfolded. Either way, I'm not into folding devices because they're all so damage-prone.

I don’t understand why anyone would want this phone except for showing off. It has a narrow screen, durability concerns and very expensive.

This is THE phone benchmark to beat in 2020, and there is no manufacturer reaching Samsung's ankles.

AnonD-762416, 22 Feb 2020This phone doesn't need any help with the hype. It is the hype. The sales are hyped and there's nothing ground breaking with the phone. Once you open it, it doesn't live up to any of the flagship phones that are already in the market, so why pay the premium just for opening and closing the lid whenever you use your phone. That ain't innovation, that is just cr@p being sold at a premium for people who let their wallets talk instead of their brains.

foldable phones are build on small scale.
And besides.India has huge population too.
                            so not a big deal.

Because those would be all or %80 of the rich guys who may have purchased this phone and atleast 50% of them may not have seen jerry's tear down video... xD

                              Anyways...
My assumptions on the Galaxy Z Flip when we talked on the GSMA render/leak page, were quite correct.

                              https://youtu.be/bbAkY-Www40

But you are still here to defend the junk though.
Again, it flips to a regular phone for no particular reason(Except nylon screen and plenty unnecessary flips... Lol).

FYI, I'm an Xperia guy. You'll agree Samsung copies their only meaningful features 1yr later after Sony does it. 22:9 ratio? WTF is that though?
