Very stupid, if Nokia was smart they'd package in 4G LTE connectivity and lose the camera altogether to keep costs down and make it come with a built-in WiFi hotspot feature, FB messenger lite, and WiFi calling out of the box too. Most people would buy the phone just to keep as a back-up phone/portable MP3 player or something to keep while they're travelling. Hell, give them for free when they're getting a high-end smartphone from the manufacturer as a bonus and pack them with USB C and give them meatier, 2,200 mah batteries so you could also use the phone as a portable charging brick if your main smartphone battery dies. What the hell they should be paying me for these ideas.

This looks more like the Nokia 5000, more than anything else. Only difference is the original 5000 had a better camera (1.3MP), no LED flash, and no memory card support.

who will buy this these days?

Nokia is exploiting people's feelings. People would think it's 5130/5310 reborn and go for it, only to find the new model even worse off than the 11 years old one.

If they truly want something to revive, it should be N series. And I mean earlier, very first models.

Bring me a modern N91 capable of beating LG's QuadDAC arrangement and I'll sell an arm and a leg to get one.

Mr. Machuman, 27 Feb 2020But without those side mounted music control buttons what's... moreWell, as it seems to me they say it has XpressMusic looks, not branding. I do not see it mentioned in the sources anywhere either, in the english text that is.

Mr. Machuman, 27 Feb 2020But without those side mounted music control buttons what's... moreI was thinking the same.

What is their strategy ? What is in their Mind? 2G only is dumb move, even for feature phone.

I think they might not want to take risk. So far they haven't showed us anything, not done before.

Nostalgia is good. But retro done right is better.

I personally do liked Nokia 5310 XM better. One of my clasmates had it. It was damn awesome design.
I would like it that with Kai OS, Single gig of ram (enough for that os) , 1500 mAh battery, and 16G internals. With price tag about $100 I would , definitely buy it. I swear.

Had a 5130 back in the day. One of the best phones ever had. Although this looks more of a copy of the 5310 but still nowhere equal to the style and functions both the Xpress music phones had i.e side buttons for controlling music, the lights, S40 OS, 200 PPI screen which was considered high resolution back then, overall looks etc. This looks crap already. The earlier phones were the real deal. I'd still buy a 5310/5130 if available new
