I'm here for the xperia 10 II. I LIKE it actually. The chipset is fine for me for I'm not a heavy gamer. But the competition is fierce. I can choose the black shark 2/pro. Huawei nova 5t. The redmis, k30/k20 series. Plus the V50 thinq is just awesome. Well, for that price.

Whackcar, 01 Mar 2020Xperia 1.2 (I'm gonna call it that) is a great phone, but w... moreSo, according to you if Apple spends $600 to make iphone and for example HTC makes a much better phone that costs $800 to be made, then HTC still has to sell for lower price than Apple.

    It is ridiculous..
This is not cars that are thousand of dollars different.

Sony tries really hard to not make their phones appealing.

Xperia 1.2 (I'm gonna call it that) is a great phone, but won't be commercially successful due to the price. This isn't Apple or Samsung, where people pay the premium for the branding. (Nobody should be paying that premium, but we can't change the reality)

Xperia 10.2 is gonna be more successful even if it has a slower chipset than it's competitors. People who are not interested in Chinese stuff might find it more appealing than phones like the Pixel 3a XL, LG Q70, etc.

They never listen to me. Bring the compact flagship line back and Im sold. 5 to 5,5" on bezelless 19:8 (or if they want 21:whatever) screen and I will pay solid money for it. IM fed up of anything bigger than 6" and dunno what to do with my money once I get bored of my huawei.

What's the F is with naming? That name alone will not make me buy the device.

LG Superfan, 01 Mar 2020No doubt Xperia 1 II is a great flagship but they priced it... moreIt is not matter of brand recognition.
It is a matter of how much device costs to be made.

It is expected to cost same of 20+, not 20 Ultra.

LG Superfan, 01 Mar 2020No doubt Xperia 1 II is a great flagship but they priced it... moreHow come is Ultra better phone? Based on what exactly? There are many features Ultra is missing compared to X1II and vice versa but yeah X1II is S20+ competitor when the bottom line is drawn. It's just that I'm not even convinced Ultra is the better phone than S20+ at all.

And there is no way in hell Sony can price this at $899 cause the price of the components is skyrocketing every year and there is control quality of components which means not every manufactured component goes into the device, there is a selection on the line. People need to understand that brands that have R&D can never match the price of plug and play OEMs that are always 1 generation behind the leaders. That's what gives Sony the right to price themselves higher over P&P brands. There are so many things Sony Xperias do in infamous camera departments that not even OnePlus can do let alone others, and OnePlus is quality stuff but it's heavily subsidized by BKK and it's basically a write off project that's bleeding money.

LG Superfan, 01 Mar 2020And Xperia 10 II is just too expensive 100 euros lower than Pixel 3a is expensive?

stupid answer choices, because if you think that these phones are not PERFECT, then you will vote in a way that these phones are not good... I think Xperia 1 II is very good but too expensive and there is nothing even close for such opinion

"However, the chipset of choice – Snapdragon 665 – is a disappointment" this is very personal, i would choose a moderate chipset full potential provided over a heavily throttled powerful chipset every day, and this could be the plan considering the surprisingly bigger battery capacity, plus the gorilla glass front and back, very possible.

Well, they should give the customers a second chance by halving the price. $650 would be the sweet spot for this phone. Anything over that is way too expensive.

For overcoming peer pressure by bringing back the headphone jack on Flagships, we now accept your second chance. I'm looking forward for either Xperia 5 Mark II for the improvements like same resolution but lower inches, UFS 3.0 and others, or the Xperia 1 Mark III where I hope they'll add a Sabre DAC on the headphone jack, latest UFS, Bright HM1 killer (Quad Bayer 108MP 1/1.3 sensor or bigger) and cheaper too.

As much as I like the Xperia 1 MkII and say it's a perfect flagship, I voted 'too expensive'. It's price is Iphone and S20 Ultra level already. Though its clearly better than Iphones, I cant say that to the S20 Ultra. I wish it got UFS 3.0, 12/512GB option, higher battery capacity, 90hz display and their own 64MP camera. I'm really getting nitpicky here but I just wish the 1 MkII have these.

10 II would be a perfect phone for me but I need a new phone now and it takes at least 3 months to arrive here.

I vote 'too expensive' for both. As much as I love the 1ii, i cant deny the obvious truth. Same goes to S20 Ultra & Iphone 11 Pro Max.

If its capped at $1000 (maintain $900 are better) bundled with those great earphone/headphone, people wont hesitate to buy it. Sony has to realize, they are not the big players in mobile market anymore.

Perfect flagship doesn't exist. Xperia 1 II won't be the one by any means. It looks good on paper though. One thing isn't good already - missing 90 / 120Hz screen and possibly UFS 3.0 storage. These things are a must on an expensive flagship phone of 2020. Cheap software tricks isn't an option.

And Xperia 10 II is just too expensive

No doubt Xperia 1 II is a great flagship but they priced it too high, it cost just $100 less than S20 Ultra which ofcourse is a better phone, if Sony priced it like $800 or $900 it would be better cause face it Sony doesn't have the Brand Recognition of Samsung, Apple and Huawei
