There is very little difference between Redmi Note 5 and newest Redmi Note series... Xiaomi recycles old phones in new fancy body... No big difference in specs betwwen Note 5 and Note 8... Difference is minor... I hope Redmi Note 9 will have Snapdragon 720, but I am not so sure about that.. Most likely I will skip this model too.. And wait for real upgrade..

Although I think that Xiaomi is cherning out too many models, Im hoping that they go the Sony route with the note 9 series, by that I mean like the Xperia 10 2. Sure, it doesn't seem like much in terms of hardware but it compensates with (promising) cameras, waterproofing and OLED screen, in addition it looks sleek and light. Cautiously optimistic.

Are you kidding me?! How about flagships, what are the options for IPS devices released in 2019/2020 with Snapdragon 855? All I can think of is Asus Zenfone 6. Other than that, you have to look at older SD845 devices, most of which have ugly notches like Poco F1 and LG G7. I really like the design of the Mi MIX 2S but I read many reports of the screen ghosting.

Headphone jack should be on top and not on the bottom. Come on Redmi be traditional.

Just stop the twice yearly cycle as Sony was doing. What significant improvements can you make in half a year? Just spamming the planet with more phones.

Good 13 mpix ultra wide with autofocus (so can be used for macro shots)
                                  64 mpix main camera
3x optical zoom (real optical no fake hybrid zoom)
                                  And thats it !!

Redmi Note 8 Pro is already a BEAST in-terms of Camera and Heavy Gaming, I do both and also very good battery life. Best value for money product in market..... I dont think there will be any such incremental value in their Note 9 series yet. I expect major design changes though.... Lets See if they make me upgrade to Note 9 from 8.

if their prices go up again for the redmi note devices like the mi 10,then they don't stand a chance. they were the first that had great hardware at great prices, and that's what brought them forward.but upping the prices like that, it is suicide given today's competition, cause, unlike their first days, nowadays you have plenty to choose from.
