The factory in Yujingguang will have to split orders for iPhone 12 due to lowered production levels.

IronTed, 04 Mar 2020Really surprise to hear that. I thought Exynos is good. Please read this:

          My Note 8 throttles too.

Good it isnt like they cant afford it

But yeah as someone else said we should be looking to manufacture in other countries. Samsung has it right there is a reason why they will be the least affected.

This may be a good time for the world to look for alternatives to China for production. And find ways to reduce manufacturing costs and turn around time.

Kendra Shields, 03 Mar 2020Apple leaker Ming-Chi Kuo has said that iPhone 12 prices wi... moreI can say that's because Apple is putting 5G in their handsets. S20 prices also hiked up in the US and Europe.

Throttling is an issue but most modern users won't keep their handsets for more than 3 years anyway. Battery will already be an issue then, even if replacable (unlike LG phones). I had a Samsung S7 (Exynos) and (throttled) iPhone 6s, and I can say that the iPhone is still faster anyway (can even play PUBG Mobile in medium settings smoothly while S7 just heats up a lot). The throttling doesn't seem to be that significant in my opinion and you know the chipset is old. Even my S10 already throttles worse in games than last year for unknown reasons.

So point being is that Apple does cheat in terms of marketing, but Samsung is the worst offender in this respect.

Anyway, Chinese OEMs don't do what Samsung and Apple does so I have been keeping an eye on some Chinese premium flagships.

Apple is pretty much dead with this new greedy Tim Apple guy. He ruined the symmetric design, he introduced even more corporate greed (which shouldn't even be possible) and he approved of the shitty business tactics such as throttling the phones, removing the headphone jack etc. only to increase revenue by selling more stupid dongles.

I think Tim Apples wet dream is to have iPhone with no holes or external ports so he can sell everything as an accessory.

Also I think Apple will continue (in secrecy) to throttle iPhones..

If Apple increases their prices of their handsets like Samsung with its S20 series then it'll be dead. Already fined with throttling issue which is not acceptable, even if a throttled iPhone is still (marginally) faster than an old Samsung S/Note series. I hope the price of the base iPhone 12 is fixed, even if the improvement will be meagre.

Diversity production is not good. Apple with this kind of policy will make inferior products. There must be one factory to ensure the same quality for all devices. Not 3-4 different supplier.

I think apple would have been far more innovative than this if Steve Jobs was still alive.
