I agree that you have to have entry level phones, but I think sony ericsson has quite a lot of them out already... They should also focus more on those high end phones since it will be the benchmark or their capabilities as a phone manufacturer.. If they keep producing cheap phones they will lose their high end customers who are willing to pay hefty price for a phone... Well probably Sony ericsson have different approach but still nice phones...

I hate to burst your SE fanboy bubble but who realy gives a sh!t about an AM radio, even if the phones are relatively nice. Also these phones are nothing near a slap in the face to companies like Nokia who makes enormous profits on their high ends.

SE should really start thinking about making different form phones. We all know they have mastered the bar phone, but some nice flips and slides would be nice.

I wonder what's wrong with those guys making senseless comments with these Low-ends. SE high ends are on it's way and from my point of observation SE wont ever release high-ends at the beginning of the year, comeon guys we still have 11 months to see more SE phones including high-ends. anyhow i wonder if there was a single nokia phone(including their beloved N95) capable of what those R-series can(to recieve AM Radio signals lol)

also to consider the look of those SE low-ends are stunning, especially when considering the fact that there was no low-end single phone from any manufacturer that boast 1.3mp camera and extensive themes support. i think that was the big slap SE made into the face of any companies including nokia ;)

Thanks to SE for catering to the needs of the budget-conscious. They put more thought into their entry-level phones than any other brand, creating tasty offerings that are both functional and stylish.

ya, some of you techies need to take some economics, and stop whoring the highend. The lowend is where the profits are made

for people who keep saying sonyericsson not focusing on high end phones and making cheap phones, i think they fail to realize that not everybody has the money to afford expensive high end phones

Good job SE thinking of the little guys with tights budget.. if i had a phone company ill do the same produce high end mid end and low end phones as much as i can't cuase not everyone can affort a high end you just can't run a business with high price tag.. SE is doing this to spread their name across the low end channel.

People are knocking on SE, saying they are making no progress. However these phones clearly knock all other low-end phones out of the league. As for Radio, which the R-series focuses on, they are unparalleled. Also, let's not forget that these phones all feature the amazingly functional Sony Ericsson UI, which is far more capable than any other low-end phone has to offer, especially with bluetooth featured. I just wish we could see a lot more of SE over here in the States :(

I agree with everything TBell said.

Unless SE comes up by a phone that can stand up to nokia's high end phones, both functionality and spec-wise, SE's fan support (including myself....W810i before and W960 now) will not hold it anymore.

                            Here's a bet

=======Sony Ericcson will be out of the multimedia phone market by Dec 2008========.

(at the current digusting slow development rate of their phones)

Cheers nokia. I think they've won it alrdy.

W8in for the 6 Mp (or 8Mp) nokia phone by the way :D

TBell, your comment is utterly irrelevant to these clearly low-end phones; not to mention embarrassingly biased.

It's nice that SE is giving people who want low and middle class phones a lot of options but they overprice a lot of phones, especially the so-called "high end" phones. To back themselves up they say that those are NOT high end phones but the prices sure suggest otherwise.
Ex.: K850 - almost as expensive as Nokia N95 but with much fewer functions and worse camera (a big NO NO for SE considering their excellent camera reputation)
W960 - inferior in every aspect of functionality when compared to a Nokia N95 8GB and not nearly as attractive as an Apple Iphone
W910 - way overpriced! you're paying all that money basically for a nice slider with little functionality
T650 - nice phone but, again, overpriced (that's why it flopped)
These are strictly MY OPINIONS but I think SE is no longer the king of "value for money" phones. No way.
I sure hope the W890 will do well because it seems that fewer and fewer people are buying their phones... In today's market, INNOVATION or good pricing is the name of the game...SE, wake up!! I am still waiting for some really good phones from SE (like they used to make).
