Now THAT is a beautifully done display, a thin but large enough bezel and no punch hole or notch, we get as close as possible to a fullscreen experience without any of the patch of dead pixels/broken display from factory that come with most phones nowaday !

Sadly the top bezel is probably poorly used as most phones nowaday because of the punch hole and notch trend who killed any front sensor but the camera...
It could use that additional space for a larger speaker grill, 3D facial unlock, front floodlight...
I sadly may not even have real ambiant light and proximity sensors (which are both cheap yet do a faster, more reliable and precise job than the camera for less computing and battery consumption).

Now for the transparent back, I found it simply sublime, the components are really well arranged and it make you want to put the phone upside down when you aren't using it, I love this design !
If this is really the components and not a simple fake image, that's amazing and I really want that, or a secondary display on the back to get rid of the front camera, that's clearly my two favorite options for the back of a smartphone !

I am not buying it because it lack many of my top wanted features, but I still really love this phone design, and if I had spare money, I would replace my OnePlus 6t by this one without hesitations !

Fun fact: On the clear back of the phone version the unit which generates most heat the CPU is on right side of the phone. But the Cooling Fan is on other side of the phone on the left side which may have or may not affect how much this active cooling will work or wont work.
Either way placement of both adds more questions than answers.

It is subpar for heavy duty gaming.

ROG 2 (Asus) has much better UI and after sales/ service support than Realme.

Transparent edition for $500 ... I will buy one.
Come on Nubia, make it so!

Anonymous, 05 Mar 2020great phone, maybe even better than black shark! depends on... moreExcellent phones. I have a new red magic 3s. For now. No problem I will the desert with fan and shower. No problem.

Software. Very good. Efficient. Super quick. Too quick sometimes.

Better than flagship OS/UI's. More optimized.

But updates are... Well a recent update for one version is end of November/December last year. And I think the last update for another region is end of September/October.

Gaming phones are far superior to standard flagships. I know. I just upgraded. They are so much more advanced and straight forward that I can't go back to a regular handset. No way at all.

You are better off with a Asus ROG Phone 2 considering both handsets have equally poor software and service/aftersales support. Or just stick with a regular flagship like the realme X2 Pro (it is a regular but also gaming-oriented smartphone).

Agentsnowman, 05 Mar 2020I accept. The OS is damn crappy .And most on the smartphone... moreActually gaming phones OS aren't crappy, they are very refined. Even more refined than your mom's iPhone 11 Pro with restrictive OS, bloated, ad-ridden (in some countries) Samsung S20, or a Huawei P30 with no GMS but spyware instead.

The issues rather lie in the support they can give. Asus even failed to fix some critical bugs in their ROG Phone lineup (audio issue, for instance) in a timely manner. And Xiaomi pulled Android 10 in Blackshark 2 recently due to the amount of bugs.

Reliability can also be a concern (I didn't mention this). ROG Phone 1 already has issues of screen cracking inside, even under normal care, and Asus did not acknowledge of this issue. JerryRigEverything has questioned the fan in the nubia Red Magic 3 (durability test and teardown video are in his channel), whether dust particles can enter the fan. And you know dust can impact internals of the phone.

I've also mentioned in the past the mechanics of mobile games these days. More and more games are free and they bridge the gap between (older) PC/Console games, but many just introduce a sheer amount of microtransactions and in many cases, ads, which you may end up spending more than a PC/console game and even your own handset. Only few games (ex. PUBG/COD Mobile/Mobile Legends) contribute to mobile gaming growth.

Mobile gaming is just truly overhyped, really. The people who says gaming phones are faster than regular phones, that only applies in games, not daily usage. True gamers play PC and console games, not a knockoff mobile game.

                              Cool design 👍

The Black version looks really good.
Good to see they improved on the camera setup.
                                      Nice 55W fast charging.
Hope the software is optimized like the ROG 2 (non-gaming optimizations)

MagicMonkeyBoy, 05 Mar 2020There is a lot more to this phone than the mere advertising... moreRegular users who don't play a lot of games won't care so stop trying to make people switch to gaming phones.

You think businessmen, elderly, housewives, etc. will use a gaming phone as their daily driver? Unlikely. Only competitive gamers will buy those so really, use your common sense. Those people wouldn't want the extra weight, or gimmicky gaming features if they don't intend to use it for intensive gaming.

You comment on every gaming phones section, are you paid by Tencent or Netease games to sponsor them? Or the manufacturers? Your Apple troll didn't really push them to buying gaming phones, neither I who use both a regular Android phone and iPhone.

Software support is still capped to 1 year in most gaming phones, which is still below the common 2 years for most Android phones. And service and aftersales support is still somewhat lacking.

Such tech in these phones just push people to keep upgrading handsets. This is very different from gaming PCs where the innovation is more a kind of step-by-step approach and not suddenly slap flashy features. You'll end up paying more than buying an iPhone 11 Pro Max or Samsung S20 Ultra in the long run.

Once you mentioned that you can get such handsets from AliExpress, you understand that there have been many scams/fraud in that site? And you'll only be getting Chinese ROM and software, not global one where Google apps have been loaded.

Really, you need to grow up kid, gaming is fictional. But if you're not an Esports gamer who can generate money from it, ex. Livestreaming, tournaments, really, you're just wasting your money and time from it.
