Anonymous, 06 Mar 2020Too expensive which is kind of odd because Oneplus and Oppo... moreWith much better sw too

Having Sony's latest and greatest 2x2 OCL PDAF technology on a massive camera sensor is definitely a wise decision by Oppo. Recently one company switched to a combination of the conventional PDAF & laser AF from Dual Pixel AF in favour of a larger sensor size and resolution, and we all know how badly it ended up. Hopefully P40 series will feature the same technology as well, this rapid focusing technology should help a ton when it comes to capturing fast moving objects.

These manufacturers are losing their minds, with these prices! And it wouldn’t be half bad if there were *anything* custom inside these phones but there isn’t! Same SoC, same camera, same (outsourced) display, etc! It’s the software/firmware that’s different from one vendor to another but that’s it. And it’s not enough to warrant these absurd prices. An OPPO priced as high as an iPhone 11 Pro Max but with a quarter of its lifetime support, no vertical integration, lack of a *properly curated* app store and the overall quality is inferior (as per Anandtech, the Xs Max has one of the best calibrated displays on the market, out of all phones or the stereo speakers, which on the iPhones are top class).
I’m not advocating for Apple here but honestly, whoever pays this much for a mainstream Android phone is lacking a few brain cells.

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2020Too expensive which is kind of odd because Oneplus and Oppo... moreOppo and Vivo always make flagships more expensive than OnePlus.
Both created stuff that later adopted by OP.
OP saves R/D money this way.

AresinUAE, 06 Mar 2020Oppo is kind of confusing me at the moment. The find X w... morePrice .... Find X was $1000, but did not have IP rating, NFC, stereo speakers. Then tou also change the CPU/gpu, the new 5G modem, new cameras, battery etc ...

If Oppo makes exactly a phone like X, but update internals, no way they would ask less than 1400 euros.

"Oppo equipped the Find X2 with a triple shooter on the back, headlined by the new 48MP 1/43" Sony IMX586 sensor with F/1.7 lens. It not only has the largest pixels of any Quad-Bayer sensor to date (1.12µm), but also Sony's new 2x2 OCL tech for focusing performance that should outdo even Dual Pixel sensors."

omnivision ov48c has bigger pixels. 1.2 micron
waiting to see a flagship with that sensor.

Too expensive which is kind of odd because Oneplus and Oppo are owned by the same Group BBK Comapny. You will be able to buy Oneplus 8 Pro with almost same specs but way cheaper 150-200 euro and be available sooner from 15 April. Kind of mess Oppo maybe next year more innovation to deserve this price.

I'm interested to see full res image samples from it's camera. At 1.12um, there's potential for satisfying results.

Very impressive but still not as futuristic as the OG find X

Isn't IMX586 used in almost every 48MP phone? And those have 0.8nm pixel size and 1/2" sensor while this one has smaller sensor at 1/43" (hopefully I am correct) yet larger pixels at 1.12nm? So either Gsmarena confused the specs or there is something wrong

Yo, original Oppo Find X has a hybrid-like Ultra wide selfie right? which crop/zoom picture of ultra wide for wide selfie? i had this idea but i guess they already done in 2018, and in GSMArena Review they call it a selfie expert, Btw Oppo X was a unique phone for its secure camera mechanical system for both rear and front camera, they should make X2 series like that but X2 Pro is still a beast phone, albeit original Find X was not good for who uses camera much!

I see a lot of Asian companie's unit sales dropping sharply this year, and not due to the.novel Covid-19 epidemic (pandemic).

                              -512gb ufs 3.0 base storage.
-All the latest connectivity: 5G, WIFI 6, Bluetooth 5.1
-3k display with 120hz refresh rate.
-Top of the line SD865 chipset paired with 12gb RAM as base variant.
-65W charging with 8+ hours of SOT.
-Best camera setup so far (beast of a main sensor, Best Ultrawide, good telephoto lens)
                              -IP68 protection.
                              -Ceramic Black looks sick!

So overall the flagship to beat so far. S20 ultra was a disappointment especially with the Exynos chip. Rest of the Chinese flagships don't come close to the Find X2 pro.

Oppo is kind of confusing me at the moment.

The find X was a stunning looking phone, and even if it is as expensive as other flagship, the way it was engineered and design warrabts that kind of price. It looks like it was given a lot of originality and extra thought - this Find X2 however, doesnt feel that way. Gone are the unique qualities that were there in the first iteration.

Add to the fact that the Reno 3 almost looks like this and almost transformed exactly like it - from a mechanical selfie mechanism to this hole in the screen design. I dont get it - nothing spectacular about these 2 new phones. Did something change behind the scenes in the Oppo R&D? They were doing really cool stuff a eyar ago and now its just....

                                    Its price?

I thought only Huawei will give competition to Galaxy s20 series this year.
Oppo has dropped a bomb right here.i have zero complaints with the Find X2 pro. Just looks like a perfect device without having to sacrifice anything especially when the galaxy s20 ships with Exynos in my country (worst performance, battery life, throttling compared to SD865 and lacks 5G)
