If you are really smart, you wouldn't judge devices based on Brands but on their actual performance.

Nobody buying outdated OS that receives latest features 5 years late.
Even the HW in the ecosystem is 5 years behind.
Chinese manufacturers are at the forefront of innovation while Apple playing catchup.

Flgshp2020, 07 Mar 2020You are just justifying your purchase of the iPhone Xr. N... moreWhile I don't believe any smartphone should cost $1000 and above, at least iPhones retain its value and are updated way longer than fragmented Android devices lol. If you're smart then you'll wait for the prices to drop before experiencing your new and "more premium" experience.

Flgshp2020, 07 Mar 2020Still better than overpriced iPhone in terms of quality. LOL! Not at all. My clumsy brother dropped his iPhone XS Max several times on various surfaces and there wasn't any noticeable damage to it. He gave it to his girlfriend and now uses an iPhone 11 Pro Max.

AnonD-804996, 06 Mar 2020The problem is, we were used for Chinese makers to be way c... moreIt's certainly not worth it because nobody wants to pay over a grand for a Chinese smartphone that'll stop getting version and security updates after two years, and that goes for most Android smartphones too. At least with your iPhone XR you won't have to worry about that at all.

geek-a-contra, 07 Mar 2020what about import duties, vat, transport, warranty, servici... moreYes importing, vat and shipping all that costs hardly 30-40 dollar extra.
That's 30$-40$ over the original 890 Euros price.
So technically still 300 dollar cheaper (including shipping, tax, etc.).
In my country, Banggood is good site for importing stuff from China without having to pay exorbitant prices for the same. Imported so many products from Xiaomi and others that weren't available in my country at that time.
I dunno if Oppo provides worldwide warranty but most of these sellers do provide 1 year seller warranty. If the handset has some issue, it'll probably surface within a month, where you can replace it.
Either ways won't be sending them the phone if any minor non manufacturing defect happens, instead get it repaired from Oppo service Centre for a few bucks.
Been Using smartphones for a decade now, never had a phone give me problems before warranty. Or for that matter any electronic gear. But I have had several electronic devices malfunction/fail just after their warranty period expires.
But at the end, I'll wait to see what price it is launched at in my country, which will definitely be cheaper than S20 ultra base variant. If it is launched at 1200 Euro price which is unlikely, I am importing.

Good phone; top of the line spec's atm but it will fail because of price. It is way too expensive.
