Firstly if you want to talk about company samsung is one of the biggest in the world and cover almost all of the electronic market, military and weapons and so no so their far from a crappy company/
Secondly Nokia hasn't be top smartphone maker for a while so its more then 3 months that they haven't had the lead. They was in front for 14years because they had the best phones out, leading the hardware front. Instead of hating on samsung success you should demand more from Nokia.

You keep forgetting that Nokia was the 14-year market leader, only up to 3 months previous did it slip its lead, and not one Android OEM could bring it to its knees, but at least 3 inept CEOs, a corrupt BoD, and Android OEMS, Apple iOS, BB and such ALL contributed to breaking Nokia's 14 year winning streak.
The numbers are the market base for users of Nokia handsets since 2008 up to 2012.
Samsung on Q1 of 2012. Call the Guinness Book of World Records. Not for Samsung, but for Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and his board, for losing so much money in 18 months than total of what was lost in 4 years (48 months) under former Nokia CEO Olli-Peka Kallasvuo.

Nokia should keep going with Meego and using Windows Phone as secondary weapon. These OS options at least better than Java and Qt based symbian. I still hope to see Nokia will reverse their decision on ditching Meego...

Samsuck fanboys couldn't believe what is happening because their crappy company used to be in the bottom. It is just 3 months, just 3. Nokia ruled the world for 14 years and they have the enough strategy and experience to come back.

So much hate from nokia fans, I really dont see why. Its nokia's fault, they slipped up for the past few years. When we customers asked for android 2 years ago they when on to insult android due to their own ignorance and pride. They then left Meego a great OS, still has the best multitasking out there and loads of amazing features. Then as a last ditch there now clinging on to MS balls and that tiny 1% marketshare :( for such a love phone such as the 800 its all just 1 huge mess and this is only the start of there decline I personally think.
Grats to samsung they have been working hard and the S2 is a amazing phone, still better then some phone released in 2012, still the phone everything is compared to, no wonder it won best smartphone of the year.
Good luck Nokia, still seeing amazing things like the pure view so hope you just stuck your heads out of your asses and reclaim your no1 spot.

Sammy sold more handsets than nokia in the smartphone department as well as the overall (smartphone dumbphone) department. Nokia sold about 21 million dumbphones more than samsung but samsung sold 32 million smartphones more than nokia. So the overall market is lead by samsung not nokia, now.

edit: i just want you to think and study apple and samsung market share from 2008-2012 add them using calculator and compare that to that site. their is a big margin of error from what they using.

Phone ... morebased on your source apple outsold samsung from 2008 to 2012 which makes the source invalid, and theoreticaly impossible. from the start (2008) samsung is already top 2 in market share but your source tells differently. apple never became top 2 mobile manufacturer in the world.
edit: its funny how people post in this forum without thinking what they are posting, some of them are imposible, unreal some of them not even reading the article before they post

[deleted post]It took all of them (Android OEM, Apple iOS, BB, etc.,) 5 years to topple down Nokia and Symbian.
5 long years. Samsung's reign is only 1 Q of 2012, the 1st Q.
After 14 years of mobile phone leadership, Nokia stumbles in the SMARTPHONE category.
But as you can see, in the overall category, Nokia still leads.
Actually Nokia would be better off without that bumbling Elop, Microsoft and Windows Phone, what closed and restrictive than iOS without sideloading and Zune nonsense.
One thing makes Android and Symbian different. Symbian was once owned by Nokia (all of it, since Nokia bought the other variants from all other companies).
It could have been a better platform.
14 years. Always remember. Samsung's reign is yet shorter than a year.
