Customer service through chat or email is the worst. That's the reason why brick and mortar stores are still existing.

Sky high business rents, taxes are killing UK businesses, but the government won't do anything about it.
I can't remember the last time I bought a phone or tech from a store. I usually do it from the comfort of my own home and without any of the hassle of driving into town, paying a hefty fee for parking, having to put up with ignorant shoppers barging into me, trying to find a salesperson to do business with, without being coerced into buying insurance and then paying over the odds for an item in a store.
Do it at home, none of that. Bliss!

A former employee who had worked at that store since the beginning said it was due to mismanagement by a 3rd party. Xiaomi outsourced the management of the retail store to the same company that was running the stores in Spain. However, they tried to the Spanish strategy to another region which simply did not work. Mismanagement led to it's downfall. You can read more about it on Reddit if you search.

Thid clearly shows that Xiaomi devices do not appeal to standard customers, but instead, it is atractive for enthusiasts, and bang for buck people, which are far more numerous in other regions, in my small tiny country, Mexico, Xiaomi devices are scarce, realme are practically non existent, oppo is somewhat seldom seen, but xiaomis are perceived as very low end devices, due to many counterfeit gadgets of all types bearing the MI logo

No matter what reason, physical store is awesome, its not just about phones, they got a lot of intelligent stuff. No review can replace own hands on.

What else did they offer, was it phones only? I can't speak for other countries, but the only way a bricks and mortar store could succeed is if they were spread throughout the land, and had a range of items. To serve 1 city, is never gonna work. I rarely see UK adverts for Xiaomi, and nobody is gonna travel to London to look at a £250 phone, from a maker they have not heard of.

This is due to poor sales I imagine. They've only just started to add NFC to their midrange phones and Brits aren't going to pay 250 Euros for a phone with no NFC

Now a days almost every people use online store to purchase any electronic gadgets. Even me too use online store Flipkart buy everything from Tooth brush to utensils. So, me not need to visit a offline store.
