15 March 2020
But the pricing appears to be a bit off, judging by the vote.

LolPhone, 15 Mar 2020What about security patches? They're also important.Unless a group of hackers specifically target you using the security hole or vulnerability (if it exists) which is not fixed through a security patch, you have nothing to worry about. The likelihood of such a thing happening is 0.00001%.

So lack of security patches don't affect the end user in the real world.
Ppl and several businesses used Intel chipsets for years without issues despite the Spectre & Meltdown vulnerabilities. As I said, unless a team of hackers specifically target you exploiting that security loophole, you are safe.

Ppl continue to fall for marketing gimmicks where they feel if they don't have the latest security patch, they are vulnerable or worse the phone becomes unusable after 2 years. These are the same people that can be hacked using a simple phising link and they are worried about vulnerabilities in the system that are less likely a threat. SMH.

Poor ppl like you need to invest in a big screen TV for great 4k viewing experience.

We already have 8k recording on smartphones. It's gonna get improved with time as well.
Still not going to watch that 8k footage on smartphone.

The Find X cameras were a long way behind the S20 in stills and videos. However, the sound quality of the audio, in video, was the opposite. The Find X Pro audio quality was significantly better, night and day. They nailed the audio recording.

Not surprising at all, the regular one is just another copy/paste of a smartphone with the same punch hole and curved edge display as every others, at least the Pro have one of the most ambitious, advanced, game changing camera with the IMX689 and its amazing autofocus tech, who despite the blank design at least give you something other don't have.

And well the pool results are quite good, you can't expect your product to have a 100% adoption rate, even being 30% of the peoples who voted choose "I'll buy this phone" which, considering all other smartphone available, is actually a really high score despite the price !
On the contrary the non pro have little popularity, which is normal for a "regular" smartphone with a too high price and almost nothing to really differentiate it from the rest, but under what one would hope as a competitive sell target.

Most android phones are okay with 1 major Android OS update as long as security patches are released regularly, also newer Android versions usually add features that are common already. e.g. I'm using color os based on Android Pie. It already has Android 10 style gesture navigation (EMUI 9 too). In realme phones, color os already has dark mode.

Android 11 has native screen recording which is present on my 2015 16gig/2gig entry level phone.

Android phones (other than those running vanilla android like pixel or nokia) updated with more than two major updates usually have performance and battery life issues as focus of optimizations is upon newer hardware.

iOS updates do the same, the features that actually matter are targeted at newer hardware (be it camera hardware, SOC or chips like U1), older ones only get better accessories compatibility like Apple watch or Airpods (Android's open ecosystem means not a major problem) and a bit more Polished UI

Call me crazy, but this one is definitely better than the S20 Ultra for me.
Still, the flagship for me this year is the Xperia 1 Mark II, which is unrivaled in terms of what you could get with it. It's almost as if it fulfills the needs of every single type of smartphone users in the world.
Then again, these are all super premium phones that I definitely wouldn't be able to afford for the next 3 years.

Based on the percentage of the poll, OPPO should step back to see who they are and the market position of their brand. No matter how good they claim their phone is but they cannot change the perception of majority that the price of this phone is ridiculous.

Also the company is friendly with the developer community allowing bootloaders to be unlocked to avail full potential of the phone unlike Huawei.
