Inside source: Apple has delayed the iPhone 9 indefinitely

11 March 2020
The new iPad Pro too. It's not just that the WWDC will likely be canceled, the supply line for the new products is suffering delays.

And Android is great if it isn't poorly skinned, even after years. How's that garbage camera that can only shoot at 1080p holding up? (When the Galaxy Note 4 that works surprisingly well even to this day was released at the same time and can shoot at 4k) How's that tiny battery holding up? And if it's good how's that performance holding up after having your phone slowed down? My brother had an iPhone 6 that was unbearably slow so he needed to upgrade to an S10. And how's that bend holding up? I know all too well how terrible iPhones are. You pay extra for the brand and nothing more.

Expensive Gucci bags that don't last any longer than a $2 reusable bag and don't do anything more = iPhones

              $2 reusable bag = Androids

Boxters are viewed by everyone (except those who are actually buying them so they can say they own a Porsche) as non-Porsches.

Yes, it is a car, it works as it should, but it doesnt have the real Porsche feeling, nor driving style. Basically it has no pedigree. Its just a car.

Maria, 12 Mar 2020If people want an iPhone so much, they can buy a brand new ... moreNeither the iPhone 7 nor the iPhone 8 are still in production, and refurbished models are still being sold at ~300 to ~400 bucks. The XR is in stores for around 600. With the iPhone 9, people can get a brand new model with up to date specs (A13 and 3GB RAM) for roughly the same price as the older refurbished models (If the rumours about the iPhone 9's price is correct, as it is rumoured at around $400).
Additionally, it brings back the home button which a lot of Apple fans miss. The size also plays a huge roll as it will be the only smartphone with good specs that can actually be called "compact".

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2020> advanced > $200 Yeah, you make lots of sense in... moreNo one, literally no one, has any negative thoughts on the Boxter as you are describing it. It's a mid-engined sports roadster, the cabriolet-version of the Cayman if you will. A Porsche through and through.

As much as I like car analogies, they simply don't apply here as Ferrari or Porsche are luxury brands, Apple is a consumer brand, albeit a "premium" one. I do agree though that 200$ seem to be unrealistic.

I do agree with the "small phone" aspect. Today's phones are getting bigger and bigger while all I want is a phone that is small but usable. With the "Full screen" technology we have been seeing during the last year one might think it should be possible to make a compact device with a reasonably sized screen, but no, the entire device gets bigger and bigger ... Just use the old body and form factor of the small devices, but give them full-body screens with a small bezel, tear drop notch or punch hole. 140mm x 65 mm x 10mm would be perfect, maybe even smaller than that.

If you live in a country that has no new iPhone7 Plus, there are iPhone8 or iPhone X and even iPhone XR...and I believe that their price has little difference with iPhone9. Yeah, you make lots of sense in your "thought" process...

Ferrari should also make a $10,000 car to prove they're advanced.

Porsche tried this with their Boxster series and failed miserably. Those cars are nothing like a Porsche, they just have the badge. Nobody considers Boxsters to be actual Porsche.

Putting an full sceen on it, makes it similar to the SE in screen size.

If Apple wants to be an advanced company, they can make a $200 small iPhone. Sharp had an SE like android phone a few years back using an 845. So, making an upper mid range $200 phone should be possible, for Apple. You can buy mid range phones for less than $200. So, if Apple wants to compete.

I work for a major smartphone retailer in the UK and the sheer amount of 4/5/6/7 year old android phones I have customer come in with is STAGGERING. Contrary to this, the amount of iPhone's I've had to send away for a manufacturing warranty (rivaled only by the hundreds I have to reject as they've exceeded the 12 month warranty) is equally as troubling.

They're not any better, or any worse than any other manufacturer and I'd confidently say my 6 years in the industry trumps your anecdotal opinion. The only reason iPhone's often aren't redundant sooner is because they run a very simplistic, locked down system with no room for extrapolations - a system that takes next to nothing to run and maintain because it's remained fundamentally the same for the last decade.
