And all the tech youtubers will praise it highly (so they can keep getting free units and not being demonetized on Youtube).

As long as you're not hell-bent on playing with the maximum graphics in every game, you're completely fine. I tried 20++ games both with demanding and casual graphics and all of them looks fine and runs well (30fps or higher average) and never really complained about anything. If else, the battery life is probably better compared to the 800 series chipsets. But if you're considering to game on your phone for 3-4 years then that's the case where you should buy the 8xx powered phone.

Not to mention pretty ones. Just look at this ugly step-son of an already hideous looking unnatural abomination of Digital Mother Nature.

Many previous year flagships and even midrangers can be bought for much better price and with much better specs.
Redmi 8 note pro cost 200 and is better .
K30 pro is another example. S10 Samsung can be bought at this price is better phone.
Huawei P30 can be bought at this price and is a lot better phone and i can continue with another 40-50 handsets.

It is a particularly key aspect which determines day to day usability of the phone. UFS storage is a MUST on a device costing upwards of 400 USD, no excuses can justify it. I would go even further and expect a UFS 3.0/3.1 type storage on a device costing this much, but i know Google will never do that so UFS 2.1 will suffice.
The likes of Redmi Note 8 Pro, Samsung M and A series phones, Realme 5 pro/ 6/X/XT/X2/6 pro all come with UFS 2.1 storage at extremely competitive price points. Nothing can justify an EMMC storage anymore.

I hope this will have the UFS though. But if they carry on with eMMC again, then no point in choosing this over the 3a itself. The Spanish guy who ran AIDA on the device didn't even bother to mention the same.

If they cheap out again and use emmc type storage.. Fail.. Even 200 USD phones are coming with UFS 2.1 these days.
People do not realize how much of a difference the type of storage makes in terms of responsiveness of the phone. A phone with SD 855 with emmc type storage will feel slower than a 670 phone with UFS storage in day to day usage.

They only represent raw performance, not actual power output based on daily usage. Higher clock speeds do not necessarily equal to better performance if it's using an old architecture. Not referring to the SD730 vs SD835 of course, but I will probably take this one with a pinch of salt.
