This is why I have grown to strongly dislike Samsung. Apple still supports updates for iPhone 6S from 2015, on the same day as Iphone 11!!!
Meanwhile Galaxy S8 from 2017 is out of luck...

davk, 12 Mar 2020It wouldn't cost them anything to do this also for S8 , and... moreIt will cost them time and money. Their software engineers have newer phones to update.

FrostPE, 12 Mar 2020And S8, S8+ and Note8 are still out, thats shame Samsung...Samsung's update policy is widely known. Complaining is pointless.

It wouldn't cost them anything to do this also for S8 , and would definitely make their brand more premium.

GAMIRSFM, 12 Mar 2020Once again, Samsung only brings 2 Android updates and 3 yea... moreThey are worse lol Samsung is still a better OEM when it comes to updates.

Meh updates don't matter as much as people think they do. Security updates are all the really need attention and those come for 3 years (should be for a little longer though TBH). If you take care of your phone and get the battery replaced every 2-3 years, you can make it last for almost a decade. No one is forcing you to buy into consumerism and having the latest and greatest.

AnonD-833125, 12 Mar 2020Is funny how a very powerful phone like Note 9 is consider ... morePerhaps if we mentioned Galaxy note edge to Samsung for one update, sens it stuck in MM.6.1, they would have so much headache fears they are infected with covid9.

In near future if i consider purshase a new phone...i don't think i will chose samsung again...the reason is, samsung sell you the device and put s...t on it and forget it...maybe somebody have enough money to throw on spam, but most don't have...

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2020These phones aren't officially available in many countries,... moreOk, then buy an iPhone i guess.

Is funny how a very powerful phone like Note 9 is consider "old", after just 12-18 months. Sad, this is the case with Android phones, especially Samsung.
Not to mention the fact S8, S8+ or Note 8 (very capable phones), will not receive this update. Instead, low-end or mid-range Samsung phones from 2019-2020 will probably receive it.
                                      #Sad.
