The high end variant for 8-900€ would be okayish. At the time this week be available, I can buy the G20U for 12-1300€, with play store, with Dex, with better hardware. Only the design of this phone is better.

But we will see :)

Also if no one buys them, then they will be cheaper... And that's all.

      SD865 is 2020 chipset. So Kirin 990 is indeed last year's chipset.
      It's not our fault that Huawei chooses to release new Kirin chipset in Q4.
      The Kirin 1000 will compete with SD865.

      Also, current generation Flagship Kirin and Exynos chipset throttle the worst compared to Snapdragon.

          Manufacturers who uses own SoC can make it ready and use earlier.
          The only flaw is Huawei choose to go with 2018's cortex A76 and old G76 GPU with 16 cores.
          That's going to produce a lot of heat.

                I don't give a shit about Google services... Big fan of Huawei here, will buy this phone without hesitation if I had the money... Else I'll just buy a P40 lite.

Samsung have been slowly trying to seen users off it sing they introduced it. There is lots wrong with both cameras, as well as lots right. I'll be honest, I just have not liked many of the S20 samples, apart from those by the Verge, using the S20 and S20 plus, in pro mode. Huawei video is usually nasty, and their slow Mo is dire.

Huawei is going to struggle to sell any phones at all outside China as they don't have good hardware and they don't have access to the apps everybody uses. If you can't stream your series, music, sports, play the games. What's the point in buying a phone costing 1,300 euros? The brand? Huawei has zero brand recognition.

For a few, again a small number, an unlocked bootloader is disputable, but not a major stopper. I'm thinking that those two combined equates to single, and Id guess sub 5, percent of the mass market. However, the lack of apps is a deal-breaker for the majority of users, vast majority. Yes there are workarounds, but the mass market don't wanna have to tune a device when they buy it. How many calibrate their TV? A tiny amount. Same with phones, I literally know nobody in my real life that would do it. I travel for work, and work in numerous places, with a very broad demographic across all venues, and nobody I work with, or live with would bother. The lack of apps makes these effectively dead. Then you throw in the high price, the questionable curved screen, and you have a collection of dead ducks. I'd like to buy a Huawei device, as I wanna try their stuff, but even I, a tech savvy fella, just can't be bothered faffing just trying to get it to work like my existing device.designwise, the screen makes this a no for me any way, but the lack of apps is the bit that really ruins it.

                          Im sure when they zoom in the S20 blows apart all competitors in the camera department especially at 10x zoom.

                          SD and Exynos both beat last years Kirin so you keep dreaming.

                          Also Huawei use their stupid memory card format, Samsung have made the screens more flat which people love whereas Huaei going even more crazy with curves.

                          And no google services.

                          I keep the Samsung even with the prices.

                              It does slightly lag behind the SD865 in all departments.
                              P40 pro won't charge faster than S20 series, it will be on par.
                              Same thing for cameras, Huawei wins in certain departments while Samsung in others. Overall on par cameras.

                                1) It's cheaper than s20 lineup counterparts...
                                2) I'm pretty sure that it will produce better main camera pics, and it's the most used lens.
                                3)App gallery isnt that bad, and now in this stage it can survive without play services... (but it's not that hard sideload apps anyway....)
                                4) Huawei will not end this... In fact most money does not come from phones anyway... Modems,routers,base stations, network equipment...
                                and to be clear, this pricing isnt justified for any phone on the market.... not even S20 ultra... ( lets say that ultra have hard time beating 660e Mi 10 pro) but huawei isn't worth it anyway....

Prices sky rocket and usually u can find Huawei at better prices than Samsung. So yea deppends whre you live.
