They might've made gains alright, but calling those "great" are gross overstatements, if used generally. They're great only for Apple.
I mean 57% of miniscule market share is, well, still miniscule...compared to market leaders.

These two models are good and makes more sense despite mediocre display. It's priced just right and costs no more than a S10e. And the S10e sucks.
However XS and 11 Pro is a waste of money. Too overpriced and comes with limited features for the price point.
Need to resolve the US-China dispute and at least include more kit in the retail box.

i've my friends who has iphone but at the same time they use andiod midrange phones too xD
and eventually, iphone which they've purchased is on a emi xD
i would rather go for andriod flagship phones....or huawei flagship phone as i dont care much about gapps.

So they sold around 7 more phones this year? Good for them.
Also a note for those who don't know, the purpose of this "Make in India" branding is to force companies to open manufacring plants and hire in India. Otherwise they face massive import tarrifs which they offload directly onto the customers. And since India is a very cost-conscious market, higher sticker prices rarely go down well with the customerbase.
What Apple has done in India is, they have started producing locally to avoid paying import taxes. But they haven't stabilized prices to reflect this...effectively double dipping into the profits pie.
Example by numbers is that they have decided to sell 100 phones at 40% profit per sale instead of 1000 phones at 20% profit per sale.

India's growing middle-class and an iPhone being a status symbol has driven this growth.
I know many people who have bought iPhones on EMI's just for that shiny Apple logo and status symbol.

This is a big lesson for all OEMs(mobiles, cars, motorcycles) to have manufacturing at locations other than China. You wanted to save tonnes of money and look what happened to your business now, even if it is for short term).
IPhone is still and extremely costly commodity in India and most salaried people in middle class income group do not think about it if it is a logical reason based mobile phone purchase.

If only they make it a bit more accessible, they'll have a lot more share. The cheapest iPhone is the years old 7, at around 400 $. 8 is currently about 500. Such a good deal, right ?
. I was looking to buy the SE a few years ago but they discontinued it. Totally brilliant move by the company. It was one of the best selling apple phones here. I've always used Android but can try iPhone, but not spending like 700 for that trial. iPhone 9 would again be like 500 here after all costs. The SE at 250 was perfect
