    No price no dice.

IPS LCD also can get burn in (image retention). My Xiaomi Mi 5s was the one that get image retention issue after I used several months. I noticed that image retention happened after I set brightness to full when I played Silent Hills: Origins via PPSSPP.

I played that game for several minutes (maybe near 1 hour played) and routine (maybe around 5 times in a week.

sayabosanhidup, 17 Mar 2020think u d better buy last year s or two year s ago flagshi... moreYeah, I looked at the IPS flagships with SD845 but most of them have notches like Poco F1 and LG G7. The Mi MIX 2S looks nice but I heard reports that the screen suffered from ghosting issues. So that only leaves the Sony Xperia XZ2 series or Razer Phone 2. And I think the Razer is better since it has 120Hz and louder speakers.

Anonymous, 17 Mar 2020They haven't fixed any shit man, AMOLED still burns inSorry to break that to you, but LCD also do have burn in, it is just slower than Oled, and new Oled display have a really low burn in.
I have my OnePlus 6t which have an Amoled display since a year now and the display don't show any sign what so ever of degradation.
            https://www.cnet.com/how-to/oled-screen-burn-in-what-you-need-to-know-now/
I am not against LCD, though I prefer the lower consumption and the Always On Display ability that Oled offer, but I'll be happy when Miniled will give LCD the same advantages of Oled, but meanwhile, each one have its advantages :
            LCD :
            _Better colors
            Oled :
            _Lower consumption.
_Letter brightness and no glowing black.
            _Always On Display

Though Oled have more advantages they are equally as good anyway, its a matter of preference, but burn in isn't a concern over regular use and can't be used as LCD's advantages over Oled, better colors though on the other hand can !

But even with miniled or microled and better Oled tech, a third option might actually beat both...
Carbon Nanotube based display, it could have 100% lighting control as Oled (ability to turn them OFF and high maximum brightness) while having a lower energy consumption, better colors, higher frequency, lower persistence, way higher resolution possible and I talk about easily faisable 16k or 32k display for a Smartphone size well "in theory" we could actually talk about molecular scaled emitters which mean pixels of few hundreds atoms only, they would be way thinner, way more robust, have integrated tactile abilities etc etc...
They are still only in labs and prototypes as carbon nanotube are still hard to make, but once they will became easier to make, a lot of carbon (nanotube, graphene and other forms) things will invade the market and it will be a great thing, technology will make a giant leap !
Here is an old post about that :
            https://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-nano-emissive-display.htm
The issue is that we haven't yet been able to reliably mass produce carbon nanotube in a structured way.

Jules., 17 Mar 2020Oled doesn't cause headache lol, what are you talking about... moreObviously never heard of Pulse-Width Modulation then. It's a method of dimming the screen present in all AMOLED panels, that causes flickering (typically at a frequency of 240Hz) that causes headaches and eyestrain in some users, especially when the screen is used a low brightness levels.

Look at all the people who complained about headaches when the iPhone X came out. It was the first iPhone with OLED and a lot of people realised their symptoms started after switching phones.

This is why some AMOLED phones now have the option for DC dimming, as it reduces the amount of flicker in the display for people who suffer from headaches and eyestrain, but it is not a solution because flickering still remains (albeit at a reduced frequency) and it causes a visual deterioration in the quality of the display.

P650SE, 17 Mar 2020Oh great. Today I am seeing online a spec-sheet in Chinese ... moreOled doesn't cause headache lol, what are you talking about. It's just subject to burn in after a few years.

I fon't think they will use it in a flagship killer. This phone will either have 90hz amoled or 120 hz lcd

Rahul, 17 Mar 2020Seriously, Nobody interested in your stupid pop-up camera m... moreI do want pop up, not only it offer real fullscreen unlike notch or punch hole, and unlike the not ready at all, hard to implement, costly and display and picture quality degrading underdisplay camera, it also offer PRIVACY which is the most valuable thing a smartphone can offer nowaday.
There barely any pop up phone to choose from, there was more phones released in 2020 (and we aren't at the end of the third month yet) than all phone with pop up camera ever released.
Plus the popularity of the OnePlus 7 (t) Pro and the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro prove that pop up camera are heavily desired, one of the top guy of Xiaomi actually made a poll asking if peoples wanted a punch hole or a pop up and the vast majority did say pop up.
So if you want your hole or notch, why don't you simply chose one of the 90-95% of phone in the market that already have one and leave the pop up alone for those who want it ?

Oh great. Today I am seeing online a spec-sheet in Chinese for both the K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom. It shows that both phones will have 120Hz AMOLED displays. If this is true then it will be another great phone RUINED by a headache-inducing AMOLED display.

I think that maybe I will just try to pick up a second-hand Razer Phone 2 from eBay, I am tired of waiting for new devices, only to have them DOA with OLED screens. Right now the only other phone that interests me is the Asus Zenfone 6 but that is a little too expensive for my budget.

Hopefully MicroLED will be here soon to kill OLED once and for all.

the biggest challenge is that xiomi will place it nicely below oneplus at 30 to 34 k so that they say this is the cheapest 865 processor ..so it isn't a perfect midrange but good value for money for those who want to buy a top range phones.

Rahul, 17 Mar 2020Seriously, Nobody interested in your stupid pop-up camera m... moreReally, do you really like punch hole or other kind of displays which really distracts, trust me popup is future and these kind of punch hole or drop will soon fade away.its all marketing strategy that they do not want to bring popup in midrange so not to disturb people liking.eg: the full screen in punch hole was identified earlier in 2014 but not released till 2017 as they want to wait till market saturates and then release new one, once people demand for new.so is this feature of popup once people request for clear full screen display without any distractions.

Rahul, 17 Mar 2020Seriously, Nobody interested in your stupid pop-up camera m... moreAre you trolling? Please tell me you're not serious. Why would ANYONE rather have a notch or punchhole over a pop-up camera. Even if I had the choice of the latter options or to sacrifice the fullscreen display in exchange for bezels, I would MUCH rather do that (like the Samsung Galaxy S8/S9) than have something obstructing the screen area whilst I am looking at it.

Better launch punch hole, dew drop or invisible display cameras. Thank you
